Gecko Rock is located in a lovely and underrated part of the country. The tranquility, privacy, hot-tub, star-gazing and ability to unplug from technology due to limited wifi and cell coverage, allows for a genuine opportunity to breathe in some clean air and recharge. There are hiking, MTB and 4X4 trails on site for those looking to be more active during the day. I would visit again and recommend to anybody wanting to get off the grid for a couple of days and recharge.

Not much to dislike as its a lovely spot. The following comments are not dislikes, but rather recommendations to travelers: I would to bring your own coffee/hot chocolate etc to round-off the nighttime "glamping" experience if you are picky about these kind of things, and to plan meals/drinks according to a gas and solar powered facilities as there was no 'high-energy' appliances (electric kettle, microwave etc, although a stove top kettle and a coffee plunger was supplied). In addition, as something I look for in reviews, the dirt-roads leading to the reserve are relatively good dirt roads but once on the property the tracks are not really suitable for lower vehicles/sedans and driving a higher clearance vehicle would be a significantly better choice.

"Perfect romantic getaway."

The cottage is in a private valley with complete privacy. It has amazing views. For winter - it is well heated by a wood burning stove and has a wood burning hot tub. It is rare to find a pet friendly nature reserve and it was a pleasure to be able to take our fur babies with us. They have a small farm shop with venison and steaks and a few other items.

I'm not used to a double bed - so a larger queen size bed would have been appreciated - but this is a very minor complaint.
