Casa do Salgueiral

Quiet, peaceful & spacious. Felt like we had the place to ourselves for most of the stay including the pool. There were other residents but very quiet which we didn't mind. This is a unique stay and the hosts were fourth generation owners who provided excellent service when needed. Local food platters and wine fabulous.

The location and the property are beautiful. The rooms have a very individual, personal touch that reflects the hosts' careful and caring engagement. The pool is a plus. The chapel and the surrounding vineyards add to the genuine charm of Casa do Salgueiral. The quality of the bedsheets and the towels was amazing and the breakfast, served in a handcrafted basket, was delicious.

The only thing I didn't like was that we weren't able to stay any longer to enjoy the peace and quiet.

This place is simply outstanding – one of the best stays I’ve ever had with Booking. It’s not just a B&B, but a beautifully maintained historic property full of charm and cared for with love by the two wonderful hosts. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view of the Douro Valley. The house even has its own chapel, its own vineyard and cozy shared spaces. Breakfast is served at a big communal table, which gave us the chance to meet other guests and share lovely conversations. Everything was perfect!

Adorámos a nossa estadia. A casa é lindíssima, situada num local único, rodeada de vinhas e com uma vista de cortar a respiração, que nos proporcionou momentos de tranquilidade e verdadeiro descanso. Durante estes 4 dias sentimos esta casa como nossa: estava irrepreensivelmente limpa, muito bem equipada e com camas extremamente confortáveis. O pequeno-almoço, entregue pontualmente todos os dias à hora combinada, foi excelente.

Such a beautiful, peaceful retreat. The property is beautifully situated amongst the vineyards and is impeccably maintained. Breakfast was wonderful and the owners were kind, thoughtful and pleasant. Whether you want to relax by the pool or explore the surrounding magnificent countryside, Casa do Salgueiral is the perfect place to stay.
