Historic Shearers Quarters

Great facilities, heaps of space to cook and play cards and board games. Comfy beds. Cool setting.

Might not be for everyone (separate buildings for facilities, etc) but we enjoyed it.

Fabulous location

lovely traditional country stay. Just what our family farm was like. cosy warm accomodation. Simple and comfortable. Perfect place to stay while driving between Tauranga and Wellington. Interesting family history

Step too big by front door and door latches hard to work.

Die Schafe und die Umgebung sind wirklich toll. Obwohl die Hütten rustikal sind, war es sehr sauber! Bei Abfahrt waren plötzlich die frisch geschorenen Schafe auf der Wiese um die Hütten - eine niedliche Überraschung.

Leider waren die Betten recht unbequem und der Rauchmelder in der Schlafhütte hatte nur noch wenig Batterie, daher hat er regelmäßig gepiepst. Sowohl die Schlaf- als auch die Wohn-/Küchenhütte ändern ihre Temperatur passend zum Wetter. Bei Ankunft war es noch heiß und stickig, nachts wurde es kalt (dagegen waren reichlich Decken bereit gelegt worden).

Loved the renovated historic shearers’ quarters. Had almost everything we needed in our quarters & what we didn’t have was easily accessible in the nearby main building. Kitchen was well equipped in keeping with the period

The bed was very comfortable with quality manchester but I would have preferred a slightly wider bed

Loved the remoteness & the genuine country feel. Peaceful sitting watching hawkes float on the wind. Facilities were perfect. Bottle of milk was helpful for the coffee in the morning. Arrival instructions were perfect.
