Historic Shearers Quarters

The history and the homeliness. Felt very welcoming from the first step inside. Xmas decoration on stove mantle was a lovely touch as it was Xmas day. Fresh flowers in vase on kitchen table.

Hard to lock and open front door from the inside.

Så naturnära man kan komma - omgiven av vackra gröna kullar och får. Fint utrustat eget kök och trevlig sällskapsyta.

Boendet kan beskrivas som rustikt - det var en upplevelse men bekvämligheterna var inte de bästa.

Off the main track on a working sheep farm the shearer’s quarters are a look back in time. 3 rooms with the bedroom and kitchen/dining internally connected then next door is the bathroom and toilet. Bunches of fresh flowers in each room.

No insect screens, a fly swat would have been handy. Had to reposition the potpourri as the perfume was a bit strong for the bedroom.

Fantastic spot. Awesome accommodation and beautifully done up.

Host Alex was delightful. Location is stunning. The working farm aspect was novel and we enjoyed hearing the sheep occasionally through the night. The accommodation is authentic and a cool experience.

The cottage was beautifully presented, lovely rural property and terrific welcoming owners.

Such a beautiful cottage/shearers quarters in stunning green farmlands near the river. Alex and Allen are great hosts and really interesting family history to read about too. The place is kept so clean with antique furniture and lovely touches like fresh flowers and proper wooden blankets. A real treasure of a stay.

Mi è sembrano di fare un tuffo nel passato. Allestito tutto come un tempo, dalla camera al bagno alla cucina, immerso nel verde di una farm. Veramente bello!

What a fabulous place, such a lot of history which has been restored into something amazing to be able to enjoy.

Just a small tweek, the step up to the main room is quite high and could do with an intermediate step but that is all.
