"Wonderful Nubian oasis in the Sahara with hospitable hosts!"

10.0

We loved the quiet tempo of life, no request was too big or too small and they really tried to accommodate us. There were lovely boat transfers to/from Aswan town! The rooms were very comfortable with a nice a/c! Other reviews said there were no towels, but we had towels, so that wasn’t an issue for us! It was our favorite place we stayed in Egypt. You can hike the Sahara sand dune behind the chalet at sunrise and see a stunning view over the Nile. They also sorted out a fellouca ride for us which was so lovely and definitely a highlight!! It’s not a 5-star hotel, so be ready for a little rustic living with some quirks, but the friendliness of the staff and the quiet from the town was absolutely worth it!

The bathroom could have more lights. They were a little dim!

"Fantastic relaxing gem in the middle of the desert."

10.0

The location is incredible directly on the edge of the desert, with the desert sand under your bedroom window. It's on the West Bank of the Nile, so quiet. They take you with the boat (~15 min) to the city side or Elefantine island whenever you want. It really is a small farm with animals and all (camel, goats, crocodiles). And Mahmoud the owner is a very nice, smart and helpful person.

We went in februari and expected a bit higher temperatures :-) But the accommodation itself is as advertised, no complaints there.

The location is like paradise. This hotel has the best atmosphere and view of any hotel i have ever been to. The animals walking around a lovely. There is a (not-so-clean) kitchen that you can use. We really liked that we had the ability to cook for ourselves, and not have to go to restaurants, since. This gave us more time at the nubian farm. Crossing the nile by boat is so relaxing. The owner is friendly and can pick you up by boat and drop you off when you need to.

"Great location, beautiful nature."

8.0

It’s a beautiful place on the westbank of the nile. The nubian style of colors are an amazing touch in the green and dessert yellow mix of nile and surroundings. There is a 24/7 shuttle boat that belongs to the property that will take u or bring u to and from the other side at any time. Opening the bedroom window led directly to the dessert and some dunes incredibly beautiful. Most of the time we were completely alone which is nice when u want to calm down yet it can become strange when u are a very social person. We didn’t try evening meals there. The breakfast was simple but nice. Overall it would be possible to do much more with this gem of a location with very little effort to a really high end experience.

Much more could be done with it with a bit of targeted effort. Still great place.

"Beautiful spot, but would be much better during high season."

5.0

In high season when bustling with guests and staff I think this would be a great place to stay. Although remote, its location on the Nile is beautiful and the desert behind the property is serene. The free boat transfer to and from Aswan is very helpful.

Due to it being off season, the family vibe that other reviews mentioned was missing. There were just three older men working on the property and no other guests. The wifi barely functioned and there was very little bottled water and no other bottled drinks available. The room was large and had both air conditioning and fans, however the back door did not lock. As a solo female traveller (suffering from food poisoning) this wasn't the best place to stay.
