Oakwood Farm Mews Chester

Excellent motel-style stopover after the ferry at Holyhead from Ireland. Easy to locate off the motorway. We liked the motel aspect meaning that we could access the room even after a long delay in our sailing and after office was closed. Great communication from the accommodation when we enquired about bringing our dog, and when we had to change our arrival time due to ferry delays. Dog friendly. Hot shower. Big bed. Tea and coffee.

The room could do with a thorough clean. Many surfaces were very dusty, including the bedside shelf, ceiling beam, skirting boards and under the bed: see photos.(Our dog found a treat under the bed left by a previous doggy visitor.) Pillows were a bit skimpy, and accommodation not exactly "luxury".

I have stayed here four or five times now. Convenient location, clean and comfortable accommodation. Staff are all friendly and obliging, nothing is too much trouble. I am booked to stay again early inthe New Year.

It was near the main road although it wasn’t too noisy.

We love staying here (this was the third time) as it's a spacious room with a great sized bathroom. It's good value for money and in a good location. The on site cafe is a bonus!

The room we had this time had quite a lot of what looked like damp patches on the back wall. We couldn't get the TV to work which we suspect was caused by flat batteries in the remote control
