Misuitehotel La Carolina Quito

I booked a room through Booking.com. It said that no credit card was required to book. I went to check in but I couldn't find the hotel. There was no sign outside indicating the hotel name, no security guards in nearby hotels and businesses knew where it is. I had to go to dinner with someone and I texted the hotel to ask for the exact location. They responded saying that they had cancelled my reservation because I didn't pay. Booking said the property was going to get in touch with me, but they never contacted me about the payment. Reading their reviews I am not the only one whose reservation got cancelled.

Location, good security, clean and comfortable place

We came here to do a lot of online work (meetings etc) and the WiFi was terrible. We couldn't do video calls, and most of the time couldn't connect our devices at all. The owner did send a technician but he couldn't work out the problem. Don't stay here if youre here for work. Also, the booking.com site states to pay on arrival with cash only, but as soon as we booked the owner sent us a text to pay via a private link. This felt misleading. The booking.com booking also states 'full price is x', but when you go to pay it adds on state tax.

The location is excellent, just in the nice neighborhood of Republica de El Salvador, very near Carolina park, nice restaurants, shops, malls.

Some apparels are old (in the bathroom, the room)!which could be changed at a low cost. Was very annoying to wait several minutes for the security guard to open or close the garage door (it could be fixed by leaving the remote control open with the keys).

location is pretty good, it is beside the Park Carolina and it is also close to metro station.
