Lovely, clean apartment, gorgeous location

The thermostat on radiator didn't work, we were absolutely boiling all night, had to sleep with window wide open

Very comfortable suite in a perfect location in a lovely friendly village. The bed was so comfortable and the shower great, lovely deep bath and constant hot water. Well equipped kitchen, everything in Skeldale House was of good quality. 3 nice pubs within walking distance, The King's Arms being our favourite. Great beers, excellent food and everyone so welcoming. Lovely craft shop next door selling beautiful things!:Bakery opposite with good coffee to enjoy inside or take away. Fabulous walks locally and within short driving distances and many other villages to explore nearby. We will definitely return to Askrigg, its a lovely village.

The only suggestion I would make is to install a shelf in the bathroom. There was nowhere to put toiletries so we kept them in our bags on the floor and had to keep stooping every few minutes to use them as there is literally nowhere else to put them. Just one small shelf would make all the difference :-)

"Luxury in the hills! Will stay again."

10.0

Luxurious accommodations with all the home comforts!

Nothing not to like. It would be helpful if th kitchen included a chopping board and some cooking oil. But otherwise perfect!

"A great dog-friendly place to stay in Wensleydale with an excellent nearby pub and beautiful walks."

9.0

This was our second stay at Skeldale House and the apartment we stayed in was great. Skeldale House is perfectly situated in Askrigg, opposite a lovely cafe and the Kings Arms pub (which serves great food and local beers). It is very dog friendly and there are beautiful walks from the house.

The only problem we had was sound of the boiler in the bedroom which produced a roar overnight.

"Lovely stay"

Easy to park up and and get in following check-in instructions. Lovely old building. Room beautifully decorated and appointed. We didn’t use the kitchen fully but it was still nice to have the extra space and tea and coffee facilities. Great base to explore the Dales, no food in property (except some delicious free shortbread, and all-butter to boot, not oil, which is always appreciated!) - we had dinner and then later more drinks in the pub across the road, all very nice. There’s a bakery across the road too. Only one night so a flying visit but would definitely use as a base to return in future.
