La Casa de las Aves

the hosts were lovely and it was in a great location. only a short walk down to the lagoon. the kitchen had all the utensils required to cook for yourself. I enjoyed our stay and it was great value for money.

the neighbours made alot of noise throughout the night.

Decent location, fairly spacious rooms. The hostel is in a cool building and has a nice terrace area. The staff were Spanish speaking, friendly and helpful. Hot shower!

The hostel is a bit older and could do with a bit of modernisation. The beds weren't the most comfortable.

The plants and the wooden furniture

No one was there to respond when I tried to contact the hotel. No one was there when we arrived. The place is under maintenance. The women who incharge doesn't do her job. Rooms were dirty, smell like sewage and mold. No shower head at one of our room. Shared Kitchen was dirty (she said its because the visitots didnt clean). There isnot even dish soap to wash the dishes . The yard is full with trash. Make yourself a favor and avoid getting there

It's close to the ado station and also 10 min walking distance to the center. You can rent bikes for free

Location is like 10 min walking to the lake, so its OK. Not many hostels/hotels around, quiet neighborhood.

I hate their beds, they are so soft. The rooftop should have better table, could be more nice.

we loved our stay here. the owners were so accommodating and let us stay till 10pm because we had a night bus. basic facilities but everything you needed with a small kitchen and fridge to cook. the rooftop was really cute to relax. would really love to return! really clean and comfy 🖤

the smell of drains when you showered but it’s a problem in Bacalar and not a reflection of the cleanliness of the place.

Friendly, we could rent good bikes for free, aircon in room, quiet too
