there was nothing to like room was small and filthy no locks on doors in a house with nearly 30 other people in bathroom could barely fit one person in and constantly smelt and was filthy due to 30 people sharing one toilet

There is one up shot of this place—it’s cheap. But by God do you get what you pay for. We had the unfortunate idea to spend our Valentine’s night in this dive. We were warmly greeted at the front door by a smashed window. The greetings continued as we entered our room to be welcomed by the pungent stink of cigarettes. The smell, however, was the least of our worries. Allow me to summarise some of the other nice surprises in store for all guests at Empress House: 1. Hair on sink 2. Leaking sink 3. Stain on walls 4. Stains on bedside locker 5. Stains on bed sheets 6. Stain on pillows (had to put a t-shirt over to sleep) 7. Holes in pillow sheets 8. Creaky floorboards 9. TV didn’t work 10. No soap in bathroom Unfortunately, we had to cut this delightful stay short and pay through the nose for a last-minute hostel the following night. It was a shame we couldn’t find somewhere else to stay the first night, we have never had a least comfortable night of sleep in our lives. As there was no one at reception on the night or the following morning to express our thanks to, I would like to thank you now for this memorable stay. Thank you, once again, for ignoring our messages explaining the situation, and for providing us with an uninhabitable room. I wish I also looked this good in photos in comparison to reality.

The bed was confutable and tv had Netflix

It was quite cold room and a small lamp next to the bed would be nice l.

The WiFi took time to connect anyway

The kitchen was equipped, the room was alright as well. The building location was fabulous. Aside the unfortunate curtain and WiFi incident, I guess it was alright.

The curtain came down (the rod broke off the hook, looked like rust) on the second day which was our last night there. The window was directly to the main road with sun and lights from shops directly into the room. The sun was shinning into the room and everywhere very exposed. The host that was spoken to gave option to find another place or wait till the next day to get handyman to fix, unfortunately the next day was when we had to check out. The WiFi as well did not work. We tried everything as instructed but it never worked. We used our phone data all through.
