Arlan House, Central Basingstoke Hotel

Bed and mattress very comfortable.

2 holes in bathroom wall need patching. Front steps missing tiles.

The room was amazing. The host was never nothing but accommodating in the lead up to my stay and when I was there. This isn't the first time I have stayed there and it definitely won't be my last. Close to everything and all round excellent place to stay. Would highly recommend to friends and family

Only one slight thing and that was the WiFi was a bit hit and miss but other then that nothing

Good location, close to restaurants, shopping centre and town centre. Quick and easy with keycodes provided before arrival. Power shower with cubicle and big shower head rather than the weak bath showers in some hotels. Good amount of parking at the back.

Mattress was too soft, I prefer a medium-hard but understand this is personal preference. If there are some rooms with harder mattresses I would like the option to state a preference. Duvet too warm for me but again personal preference. Option of a thinner duvet would be nice. Noise (talking) from adjacent room went on past 11pm. I don't expect that this is the fault of anyone but the occupants but the sound can travel if you have an inconsiderate neighbour.

This was our second stay at Arlan House. We had to change to two double rooms as the family room became unavailable. The rooms were spacious and clean. The free bottled water was a great touch. The location is great for seeing a show at The Anvil. Steve was super helpful over email and let us have early check in and late check out.

The shower barely had any pressure and took a good 5 minutes to heat up enough to get in. Not sure if the walls are thin or our neighbours just had the tv on really loud. They had it on loud until at least 5am. No fault of the hosts just bad neighbours!

There's the space in front of house and limited space in front the outside rooms but also a large accessible parking area which runs along back of neighbouring properties. It's not clear if Arlan house guests can park in those. If do the parking is ample but if not then it's limited

Very clean accommodation and walkable distance to the city centre.

The TV didn’t work because the remote was faulty. I called the staff, but the problem was never fixed, so I ended up staying there without a working TV.
