The Red Lion Stevington

Looked great on the ad on booking.com. we'll decorated room in pub with food and drink available. Even has a menu and pictures of food being served on the site ad.

Beware this is no longer operating as a business. There is no pub or food available. The location is a small village and other nearby pubs and shops were also closed at 7pm on weekday. Signs on property cites closure of pub and restaurant however only saw this upon arrival and it is not advertised as such on booking.com. No-one at the property and contact number has message stating owners wl not be picking up messages regularly. No answers from any numbers on booking.com either. Once I found the apt all.keys where left in the doors which is unsettling as a single woman travelling alone. Equally unsettling is there is no WiFi coverage. I had to travel out of the village to get a signal to attempt contact. In the end I had to spend 43mins on a call to booking.com who could not get in touch with the owners either. Its a misleading advertisement and lacks transparency. Be informed before you travel. Not much help from booking.com for sure either.

It was clean and close to Santa Pod.

It was smelly due to drain issues, dark like a cave due to dark lighting, the lock was broken and I had to climb out of the window, the worst issue is that there is an elderly resident who is upstairs and kept us awake with loud tv and the sound insulation is so bad you could hear her go to the toilet, walk around and shower, and she went to the toilet went through the night. The bedding wasn’t comfortable because it’s synthetic and makes you so hot. We came home exhausted and having hardly slept and you can’t open a window because it’s ground floor.

On arrival we were not able to enter out room. We went for a drive and were able to access out room when we returned.

The hotel was not even open we I arrived, I had to book a seperate hotel. I called the next day to raise this to be told an email had been sent with instructions but this wasnt received. No phone number on the property to contact anyone! Avoid!!

The hotel itself was nicely decorated and clean

We booked and stayed as 1 adult and two children and after we we got in to the property we found there was no bedding for the sofa bed meaning there was only one bed for three people which was unacceptable, also there was no heating on and it was quite cold.
