Barriemore Oban

We have just returned home after a fantastic stay at The Barriemore. It was a nice welcome & touch when we arrived that there was Sherry & biscuits and plenty of Tea, Coffee & Milk. The hosts are very welcoming & friendly, giving helpful information regarding places to go and also places to eat. The hotel is situated on The Esplanade with stunning views across the water. Rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. Bed was really comfortable as was the pillows. We just wish we had booked this sooner so we could have stayed longer.

We had a 4 night stay at Barriemore and were not disappointed. We had a spacious well equipped ground floor room with magnificent sea views. The room was decorated to a high standard, and very clean and comfortable. The quality of the tea and coffee provided in the room was much better than most we have stayed in with top ups available in an excellently equipped communal area . Nice little touches included a carafe of sherry on arrival which was replenished midway through our stay, and a pair of binoculars to view the constant coming and going of seafarers! We consider our stay to be excellent value for money and look forward to returning next year.

The room had a wonderful view of the Oban Bay and the Islands. Had a wonderful old-world charm to it. My wife and I enjoyed sitting by the window watching the ships go by in the bay and the people walking by on the sidewalk. It was very relaxing to go back to the room after a long day traveling and touring castles and other sites. The location was excellent as it was near the end of the line of buildings along the bay, so it did not get too much traffic but was also within walking distance to restaurants and the town.

Superb room

Would have been nice if we had something to dry our clothes on after handwashing.

The location was amazing, on the sea front, a few minutes from Dunollie Castle, a 15 minute walk from the town centre and ferry port. The views from our sea view room were spectacular. Our bed was very comfortable, which really ticked the box. The room was spacious, clean light and airy. Mark & Jan the owners were extremely helpful, and supplied us with lots of helpful local information, including the best restaurants for seafood!

This place was amazing. The room was incredible. The hospitality was wonderful. I will always stay there when I go to oban. Truly exceptional.

We had a lovely big room, very clean and modern. The hotel is on the edge of town on the seafront with beautiful views and private parking. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the town center along the seafront. It's à very peaceful hotel. The floorboards are a bit noisy. There are tea and coffee and Scottish biscuits on arrival. We had a lovely stay.
