Booked last minute

Was given the wrong room by the host , booked a twin but was given a single occupancy! Host is not at the property you can only contact by phone. Was told by another guest that she had been told to enter my room but had seen all my belongings in there , so she had the room I had booked. So apart from the mistake there’s a concern regarding the safety of your belongings! I tried contacting the host regarding the issues and asking for a refund for the difference in rooms ie we paid for a twin but was given a single ! And it was late so I had to share with my son , the host has since refused the refund and ignored my messages My advice avoid at all costs Unprofessional and unsafe !!!

Cleanliness

Wi-fi was inconsistent

The hallway and room was clean and tidy, the furniture in the room was nice and the room had clearly been redecorated recently. There were parking spaces in front of the building, plenty free when I arrived.

I had some major issues getting in to the room. I used the instructions provided for the electronic code locks and followed them carefully, it wouldn’t allow me entry. I messaged the owner as requested in the email and he said he’d check, then told me to try again. I was then able to access the front door, but not the room he’d said. I was late for going out with friends by this point as I’d wasted 20 mins so went out and asked him politely to get it sorted for when I got back. He replied basically saying I should try again and follow the instructions carefully (I’m not an idiot, I put the right code in every time and it didn’t work.) When I got back, both key codes worked. But I found someone else’s stuff in the room, used toilet paper in the toilet, a water bottle on the basin. I messaged him, he said that he’d given me the wrong room and gave me another room number. With the same entry code!! From this point I felt very unsafe and, with no choice but to stay given that I’d had a couple of drinks and couldn’t drive anywhere else, I had to barricade myself in the room in case anyone tried to gain entry and try to sleep. I’m really glad I didn’t have my children with me as there’s no way I’d have felt safe sleeping with them in an unsecure room which presumably anyone else staying in the building could walk into, simply by trying the same code they had for their door. This is a major security issue and is completely unacceptable. I have never stayed anywhere else like this in my life and booking.com shouldn’t be allowing accommodation like this to be booked via their site. Also the previous comments about cold water and sound proofing are correct, there isn’t any. You can hear everything from the corridor and other rooms. You also can’t control the heating from the room so it was baking hot all night.

Never got any cold water one pillow two teabag luckily carry my own two limited facilities basic value for money for budget traveller Just met my expectation lock on outside door kept saying battery low
