Durbeyfield

The building was conveniently placed as we were hiking the SWCP, and it seems a popular place for hikers. There was no one in to greet us, but we had been told with details of a key box to let ourselves in. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, the shared bathroom, which we didn't have to, was large with a very b big walk in shower. The attention to detail was lacking though, the sash window was broken held a little open with a pebble! I can appreciate that it may be difficult to fix, but it would have been useful to have been given something to hold it in place, instead of us using a hanger to hold it open. The room was stuffy and we definitely needed the window open despite the wet and windy weather. We liked the breakfast options which was good but would have liked to have been told goodbye by the two gentlemen on duty. We looked for them on departure, but couldn't find them. I found this a little shocking and not very good hospitality.

Apart from the window that wouldn't stay open, the duvet cover zip was broken and not been fixed, I kept catching my feet in the cover during the night. Small things like this can easily be remieded. Distinct lack of attention to details and hospitality needs to improve.

Good breakfast

Hotel was very tied, poor quality furnishing, clean but very tatty, peeling wall paper, worn out carpets, mould in bathroom and no house keeping during our stay

Close to the coast. Friendly staff. Clean room. Good parking in front of the house.

Looked a little tired. Although expected in a coastal location, be warned that the Herring Gulls are very noisy until late at night and start again before sunrise! Earplugs are advised, especially if you book the top rooms.

Location was great ,value for money, and friendly staff
