"Great spot and lovely host"

We enjoyed staying here for one night and chatting to Linda the super friendly host. The breakfast was excellent and it was even possible to charge my car overnight!

"Short Break in Whitby."

Linda the owner was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our room was ready so we were able to check-in straight away. Linda provided us with a map of the area and explained the best route to take into Whitby. The location for us just outside of the busy streets was perfect and the free parking is always a bonus.

There was nothing that we did not like.

"Perfect place to stay"

We only stayed for 1 night, but the property was lovely. Plenty of parking and we have an EV so the EV charger was an added bonus. Lovely big room with a very comfy bed. I don't normally eat breakfast but I made an exception for the Full English on Sunday morning. We didn't need anything else to eat until Sunday evening.

"Excellent Host"

We had a very relaxing 3 days. The Coal Merchants House was spotless,roomlarge and well equipped. Our host Linda was welcoming and attentive to our comfort and her breakfast was excellent

"Absolutely marvellous!!!"

This is the by far the best B&B we have stayed in. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Lovely to have delicious local biscuits and quality coffee provided in the room every day. The breakfast couldn’t have been better, a lovely choice of cereal, porridge, nuts and seeds, fresh fruit, Tiptree jams and honey also a full English. All dietary requirements are catered for. We felt so comfortable and relaxed here. Linda was lovely, so helpful and informative. We will definitely be returning.
