Masakali Retreat

The property is far from the city chaos and nearby to the local market. Best thing is Gojek is delivering food here. We stayed for 2 N. The rice terrace view from Akasha common area is mesmerizing. we stayed in the biggest terrace bedroom which is actually owners office cum personal stay room and our other room was normal room below. big bedroom will give you royal feel. but personally i would suggest go for 1bed pool villa if you not getting the terrace bedroom. You will be in love at first sight with the place. If you looking for a calm stay surrounded by nature then its the best place. Ira was an amazing host.

During the night staying alone in the property is little fearful because the property is completely open towards the rice field side. However we haven’t faced any problem or wild animal intrusion but a fear was always there. I suggest property should have security guards in the night towards the open section.

The silence and noise of nature

For older group , Masakali needs to invest facilities for senior citizen.

Stayed 2 nights in Surya Villa … and I wish I could have stayed longer ! Beautiful villa surrounded by lush vegetation. Amazing staff, so kind, so caring…special mention for Ira who pampered me and answer led all my requests (even last minute ones ) during my stay. Highly recommended !

We most enjoyed having the infinity pool surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery. We also enjoyed Ira, the guest manager who was so incredibly helpful and accommodating! She even brought us a durian from her home to try! She went above and beyond and really ensured we were most comfortable.

The location is about 30 minutes out of Ubud Centre which makes it quiet and peaceful, but it does mean you either need a driver or to hire a scooter if you want to go into town. We hired a scooter which wasn't an issue.

The room was really spacious and clean. The staff were very cordial and responsive.

Since the property has natural greenery, insects and bugs are common inside the room.

Such hospitality and kindness! Peaceful, beautiful place to stay.

The intimacy of the property and the access to all of what ubud has to offer.

The pool was a little cold and riding the scooter on the tiny path was a little scary!!

The are was very isolated, car can not drop till door, we had to carry our luggage, the food was very bad and there were cockroaches as well on the food tray. There was no privacy in the washroom, plus there was a cat who was disturbing and scratching the soor entire night

Beautiful, peaceful location about 30 min outside of Ubud. Ira and her staff were so attentive and welcoming.
