Thomas' Retreat Bukit Lawang

The hotel was very clean, had a massive bed with a mosquito net with no holes. The bathroom and shower were huge. The porch had an awesome view right along the river which was great for watching the rain storms and trekkers coming down the river. There’s a prime swimming spot just across the grassy gnoll. It was also a very quiet part of the river so it was often pretty tranquil and relaxing. The staff was great. Thomas checked in regularly and arranged everything for us, he also allowed us to put everything on a tab and pay by card at the end and since there are no ATMs in the village this was a huge help. The food was good and quick and open pretty late. The internet only ever got spotty during torrential rainstorms and even then mostly held out. The AC worked flawlessly. We also did our trek through them and Ren and Arnold were amazing. They were so knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding. The trek was difficult but incredibly rewarding. One of us got sick and Renwa worked with us to adjust our trek so we could still have fun catch some rare animals while making sure the sick person had a quick and easier trek back to the hotel. We saw 90% of the animals on the Bukit Lawang Bucket List. And the food we had for dinner on the Trek was the best meal I’ve had in Indonesia so far which considering we were in the jungle was very impressive. Wir sind zum zweiten Mal in Bukit Lawang und in Thomas' Retreat ist es einfach perfekt. Tolle Unterkunft, beste Lage und ein netter Gastgeber. Thomas organisiert Dschungeltouren zu den Orang-Utans und es war wieder ein tolles Abenteuer. Der Vorabkontakt ist kinderleicht und Thomas reagiert sofort auf emails oder WhatsApp. Thomas' Retreat ist unsere Nr. 1 in Bukit Lawang.

Excelente habitación. Mucho espacio, limpio y cama grande y cómoda.

El aire acondicionado podría ser un poco más potente

Tolle Unterkunft, super nettes Personal. Die Treckingtour mit Dino und Farell war auch super, sie haben immer versucht uns die Tiere ohne weitere Touristen zu zeigen. Bukit Lawang kann man auch etwas länger genießen, ohne sofort Dschungel und weg.

Comfortable, friendly, helpful, clean room, nice bed.

Very clean, beds were very comfortable, had A/C & Hot water. Staff were fantastic always happy, owner Thomas is lots of fun. Property right on the river, great view from room, walking distance to everything, will return

Der Aufenthalt war sehr gut. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden ohne zu fragen vom Bus-Bahnhof abgeholt und bei der Abreise auch wieder dorthin gebracht.

Leider kein warmes Wasser.
