Kosh royal house

Amazingly friendly hosts representing the true meaning of Nubian hospitality. The entire village is very relaxed and friendly, there are great places to eat minutes from the house. You can also ask the hosts to prepare dinner for you, their cooking is excellent and the breakfast is superb! The hosts can also help you book tours and transport and they give you a fair price (which is not so common elsewhere). This is definitely a diamond in the rough, and would certainly recommend staying at place for a few days if you have time.

It was a great decision to choose Elephantine Island and Kosh Royal House for our stay in Aswan, which was a nice home away from home. Jemal met us at the ferry and took us through one of the two Nubian villages on the island to our home. An extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful man with whom we had excellent conversations. The house is clean with an exceptional terrace on the roof from where an exceptional view of the surroundings opens up. This is where Jemal served the best breakfast on our trip through Egypt. His son Mohamed organized a trip to Abu Simbel for us at a reasonable price. Jamal suggested us an excellent restaurant - King Jamaica, where we had excellent camel tajine and heavenly good mango juice. Three days on the island were truly unique - peace without traffic, friendly locals, playful children in the streets... I left with tears in my eyes. Thanks Jamal

Friendly staff, excellent location, quiet and clean.

Jamal is such a kind and generous host. Elephantine island is so charming and relaxing and a 5 minute ferry to the rest of Aswan. His place was clean, comfortable and had an amazing local feel. He walked us to his friends restaurant for dinner and sat with us and chatted while we had breakfast. I’ll stay here every single time we come to Aswan. Amazing value for the money and an amazing experience. We left so happy and relaxed.

Jamal is a fantastic host and makes a wonderful breakfast. We were very happy to be staying at this hotel, we will definitely come back. Everything was very clean and smelled so good. The location is also quite good, as it is closer to the quietest part of the island with direct views of the Botanical Garden.
