Hospitality of the owner was praiseworthy. He even managed to make me visit different temples in a short time sending a local guide.

With so many hotels in Varanasi it was difficult to choose. But, we made the right decision coming to this place and having Vishnu as our host. The hotel is at a great location, close to the main Ghats and loads of good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The room is big and clean, with hot water 24/7. Bed was very comfortable! Vishnu was the best host during our time in India, made sure we were happy and comfortable. He also took us on a really nice food tour where we got very tasty dishes and a lot of interesting information. We had a great night, and 3 wonderful days staying here. Totally recommended.

Nothing to dislike! The listing doesn't show in Google Maps, which made me a bit apprehensive at first. But there was no need. Vishnu made sure we got picked up from a good location, showing us exactly where the hotel was.

Maa Durga is one of a kind! Vishnu is one of the most genuine, caring, kind,inspiring, knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate humans we have ever met in India! Our room was perfect, we slept like babies, the water hot and pressure was awesome! Location is prime, right off the Ghats but still quiet enough to get all the rest you need! Vishnu is known for his delicious chai and heartfelt conversation! He knows everything and everyone in Varanasi and can help you plan and execute your adventures with a quickness.. He truly cares about his guests and genuinely wants the best for you! If you want to go on a real adventure ask him about his street food tour, so awesome!! Over all we loved our stay and will always choose Maa Durga and Vishna when we visit Varanasi!!! Thank you for everything!!!

Nothing!! All was perfect!

The location is perfect, very central but far from the traffic. The room was clean. The owner is very forthcoming, brought us a heater, sent some staff to collect us at a designated point to navigate in the pedestrian area, found a taxi for the airport etc. Great value for money

The owner is quite original and I didn't feel at ease with some things (eg he didn't register us, the check out at 11.30 was done with him speaking from his bed next to the reception). Cash payment only.

Maa Durga is like a breath of fresh air especially after coming from the worst, and highly overpriced hotel in Prayagraj. It's not easy to get there because of the police barriers but a staff boy picks you up and shows you the way. The crowd density in Varanasi now beats the one in Kumbh Mela! The owner is extremely attentive with any of the clients' needs, the room is clean, and cleaned every day. There is hot water, tea and water are free. Location is 30 seconds from the ghat. Internet was 80-90 Mbps. PS I was here two times in the 2000s. So many more people now ...

There are no windows towards an open area, only towards another wall on the other side of the street.

Staff, location

Staying in an unfamiliar place can be overwhelming, but thanks to our host Vishnu, the experience was seamless and comfortable. Vishnu’s reliability, resourcefulness, and exceptional helpfulness made all the difference. As I was traveling with my mother and needed assistance, his guidance and support throughout our stay were truly invaluable. I would stay at this accommodation again when I am in Kashi.

Feedback: It would be helpful to have clear instructions about maintaining silence after 10:00 PM, as some guests were a bit noisy.

I enjoyed my stay at this place. Room was OK, very good location and the host is very kind and supportive. He allowed me to leave the luggage and pick up it later as I had a night bus. I recommend this place.

The best hospitality we had in India. Very helpful with everything and helping me with special requests to get my camera repaired and getting us back to the train station. Everything is clean and very good hot water
