Nisala Guest -Galle Dutch Fort

Great location in the centre of the Fort; hot shower, clean beds, tasty breakfast; helpful staff, we stayed here a couple of times.

This homestay was great value for money. Location is great, clean, friendly owners with AC.

The room was clean, the bed wonderfully comfortable and the AC/ceiling fan very effective. The bathroom was clean and spacious, plus the hot water shower was a huge plus. Clean towels also provided. It was really nice to stay at the house of a local family and my hosts were just so so lovely. Cricket fans too! I will definitely stay here again - the fact that it's smack dab in the middle of Pedlar St is a massive advantage. It added to what was a magical stay in Galle Fort!

Galle Fort is amazing and totally worth visiting but it's definitely also a tourist trap where locals simply cannot afford to shop and/or dine. Therefore, staying right at its centre with a friendly local family was essential to break the evil spell of holidaying in an expensive theme park. My room was basic but very comfortable and quiet. It also had A/C, which might be important to many guests.

The rooms are not accessible and mine had a very small window. It was impossible to get it completely dark. There was no hot water but, with the present weather in Sri Lanka, I would not have used a hot shower anyway. Washing with cold water was the only way to go. The hosts wake up early for school/work and this may bother some guests. Do not be fooled by other reviews as well as the food pictures posted by the property: breakfast is not included. In my case, it was not even offered at check-in. After inquiring about the possibility, I finally decided to skip it. Cash only.

I like that Nisala is within the Fort, and walking distance to all attractions within the Fort. There's also a gelato shop downstairs. Bed was comfortable. The toilet was recently renovated, I believe, as it was so white and spotless. Comfortable stay.

Nothing much

The location. It was very close to the center of everything! What we got for the price was decent. Was worried about a few reviews stating the cleanliness of the room but was not so. Had AC and Hot water.

The noises outside of the room were audible as if inside!
