Oqilanur Guest House

I absolutely loved my stay in this family guest house. -My bedroom and bathroom were huge, with plenty of storage space and sockets. -Bed and pillow were very comfortable (Uzbekistan seems to have very hard mattresses; the bed here was very comfortable. It was so nice to return after a long day of lots of walking. -Very clean; nice thick set of towels. -Refillable drinking water -Location was AMAZING!! It’s in a very quiet location in the old city near the South Gate and <2 mins walk from Islam Khoja. This makes it perfect for a walk along the walls as the gate is so close. -Good water pressure and hot water for shower. -Best breakfast I’ve had during my travels in Uzbekistan. -Very kind and welcoming hosts. I had an early flight and they had my breakfast ready at 6.45 (early for most hotels). -I loved the traditional setting at breakfast. -Highly recommended. I will return again. Excellent value for money.

Everything was perfect for my stay.

Very welcoming and friendly hotel owners, they made us feel like home (also allowing us to dry our clothes outside in the yard :)) We were 4 friends in the quadruple room, which was really really spacious! Everything was very clean, the Wi-Fi connection was quite fast. We really enjoyed our stay!

Maybe offering also coffee during breakfast but that wasn't a dealbreaker at all.

This guesthouse is a cut above and 100% worth the slightly higher price. If you're looking at this thinking - hmm, it's a few pounds more than others in the town, is it worth it? The answer is yes. The room, bathroom, and facilities in the room are much better than similar properties, free water, fridge, modern TV, loads of space, strong air conditioning and wifi, great bathroom. It's sparklingly clean, and the breakfast is by far the best I've had on my travels in Central Asia. Very sweet staff. Slap bang in the middle of town too. I had a fabulous view in room 4. It's absolutely perfect.

Best location, it located in the Centre of the old town, but on the back lanes, which means you won’t be bothered by group of tourists during the daytime if you need some rest in the room. The family are somewhat shy but offering everything you need in a enjoyable and efficient way, not to mention the wonderful breakfast experience in their glorious dining room.

Overpriced. It is close to all the good sites within khiva and offers minimal services and an adequate level of accommodation at a price similar to a fivestar hotel in tashkent.
