Deodar Homestay

This homestay is worthy of a 11 on 10 marking. The six room-spa- kitchen with cook boasts of classical architecture nestled amidst eight acres of deodar forest. It is located on the hillock near the circuit house and the cantonment which makes it althemore peaceful and secure. We were graciously hosted by Mr Shekhar and was cared by the warm and hospitable Mr Prakash and his team, who cooked us sumptuous meals and made us feel homely and comfortable. Their dogs- Yuri and Oliver provided us with guided tours of the estate in exchange of endless belly rubs and hugs. The rooms were spacious and neatlykept and modern. The pictures wont do justice to the place and one must visit Deodar Homestays to truely enjoy their warmth and hospitality.

Nothing absolutely. We travelled 500 plus kms just to stay here and this is the only regret we have that we cannot visit it regularly.

This location, campus & surroundings were superb

Spent 4 nights here, absolutely lovely stay. The place is a short walk to the market, and very quiet with an amazing garden to relax. Feels like a holiday :) The rooms are super clean and spacious, beds are very comfy. All is so well designed, almost feels like a boutique hotel. But the biggest plus: the staff! They were all so nice, do everything to make your stay comfortable, and the food they cook is delicous! Breakfast was different every day, with a combination of indian and continental. And don't miss out on the homemade pizza :-)

Lovely old bungalow with huge verandahs and a beautiful garden, sitting up on a ridge looking out over the town below, mountains in the distance. Huge bedroom with mountain view had a large comfy four poster bed, sitting area, fireplace and great bathroom with large shower and a bowl of fresh flowers :) Delicious breakfasts, teatime snacks and dinners with local dishes to order, made by Prakash, who always had a broad smile for us.

We loved staying at Deodar Homestay and was well looked after by Prakash. The food was really excellent and we hope to return to Almora in the future
