Deshon Qala Guest House

We loved our stay here! The owners are super sweet and welcoming, I really felt at home. The guesthouse is a great option for solo travelers or couples. It's close to the old town area but also not in the main touristic section, which gives a great feel for the life of the locals. I would definitely come back here if ever visiting Khiva again.

Good location, just beside the gate that allows for free entrance to the Ichan Kala

-Room was not very clean (there was lots of dust, rain and even some plastic balls all over the carpet) -Bed was extremely hard, which made me wake each 30min to change position -Although I asked the staff to fill the water can of the property at 6pm, they hadn’t done that when we left the property the other day at 5pm. And I asked that 3 times! They just kept insisting we could drink tap water -Kitchen was extremely dirty and disorganised -Very high price for what it offers (it seems Khiva is getting hyped)

Staffs are pretty good, my feeling like I am at home, coffee, kitchen, good breakfast and very good WiFi connection.

Thank you to Miya, Timur, and of course little Yassine for the amazing stay! This place has a great location Right next to the south gate of the old city and it is clean and comfortable. The host family is amazing and gave me lots of tips, advice and recommendations in khiva, both the old and new cities, and they speak perfect English and Russian. You can also pay in many different currencies including dollars euros and rubles. They even give you free individual shampoo and soap even in the shared room, which is unusual but nice. I'll definitely stay here next time I come to khiva!

It would be nice to have secure storage in the shared room, like lockers or drawers. The water pump was a bit loud in the main living room and entranceway, but it wasn't a bother in the actual bedrooms. These are minor issues though and do not impact the overall quality of the stay.

Fabulous location and very friendly owners and staff. Would come back in a heartbeat if we ever return to Uzbekistan.

The guesthouse is run by a very friendly family and has a large courtyard overlooking the walls of Khiva. I enjoyed being just outside the old city, as it allowed us to experience a bit of the city beyond all the tour groups lol. Staff speaks English and room is very comfortable.

There was a bit of a smell in the bathroom in the morning, but no big deal.

Nice breakfast. Nice location. The employees are super nice, I couldn’t find the location, one of them come out to show me the way.

It was very cold at night, couldn’t find the controller for air conditioner. It was very cold even if we had an extra blanket or quilt.

LOCATION WAS GREAT— AND THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT—-!!! GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY—-!!!
