Sundial Stays Kendal

I liked pretty much everything about this place, was perfect for my needs. Having a fridge and a sink in the room was very helpful and the little details of this accommodation were great, from the wall-mounted bedside table to the radiator attached hanger, to the sponge for washing your dishes (apparently not considered a necessity at other sharehouses). The view was one of my favourite parts, only visible from the twin room which sits on the top floor, but sitting there and looking through it was my favourite way to start and end my day. Cosy and comfortable space, would recommend.

There were only a couple of things I didn't like and only one really affected my trip and the rating. Coming from a country where nearly all the busstops have cover to a country known for the near constant rain, it was frustrating standing waiting for the inconsistent buses out in the rain, even in my rain coat trying to check my phone it got so wet so quickly it didn't register my finger. This is not something I think Sundail at Kendal has any say in, I just think if you're not from the UK it might its good to be prepared. I will warn that to get to the same room I stayed in you have to go up 3 flights or stairs, non-issue for me but suitcases may be hard to carry up. There are cute button hooks in the room which was a great thought, though sadly my wet clothes and towels seemed to not want to stay on them, a hook for the back of the door might be helpful, not a big issue. There is no sharp knives in the room and the kitchen in the common space wasn't really practical as an actual cooking space.

very clean and comfy bed, nice tv, really good shower in shared bathroom, use of a microwave downstairs. easy keycode it fulfilled my expectations and nice to have booklet explaining where things were etc. would definitely recommend for price but better for someone who drives

the stairs!! my own fault as I have mobility issues but I knew when I booked that it was upstairs but not prepared for how steep and not very good banister to hold onto. Also got soaked in storm and nowhere really to dry clothes

Great value for money, and location. Friendly and helpful staff. Impeccable cleanliness, bathroom is shared but it was spotless. Room was big. Quiet at night and I barely noticed anyone else was there. Nice little supply of tea, coffee, etc

Probably more a criticism of booking.com than the property but I wish I'd known about having to request a parking pass before I got there. Parking on street is doable but it can be a bit challenging.
