Batad Lhorens Inn and Restaurant

Very nice and friendly hostess and family, awesome view from a few of the rooms and balcony on which you can chill a bit. The food is good and they can help to arrange some hikes with a guide or a tour, transport and laundry. The village is very peaceful and the rice fields are beautiful, especially in april / may. You will have a great stay here if you just prepare for basic facilities, and enjoy the exclusivity of being able to visit this place on foot. Vicente is also a great guide with decades of experience and a good tour price!

There are many roosters and dogs that make noise. This is not the fault of the homestay but be aware that you will probabaly need earplugs at night :)

The location of this stay amidst the rice terraces is simply incredible. The view from their rooftop deck is an amazing spot at sunrise. Make sure to ask about a hike/tour with Mayor, he is the BEST guide. Be prepared to hike into the accommodations in and out. They will help arrange porters for your luggage if you would like though which is super helpful.

We had a great experience at Lhorens. The family was lovely and helped with planning our trekking tours. We did some trekking tours on our own and in that case Lhoren made sure that we got lunch with us. We really enjoyed the local and authentic experience of living in Batad and the view from the homestay is spectacular.

Nice spot at the upper part of the town. It's a steep climb down, so if you just want a nice view, this is the place. The house has a flat roof with some chair where you can see most of the rice fields, and most of the town at the bottom. The rooms are basic, very thin mdf walls, a window, a bed. If you tend to get cold easily, maybe ask for an additional blanket as the temperature seems to drop a decent amount at night. There is a hot water shower, and a squat toilet. Power sockets in the common areas.

The food is not that good, for example a smoothy is just water + fruit put in a blender. Wifi is also not free like it's advertised, you actually pay per ~1.5hr segments using a voucher, although it starts at like 20 pesos i believe for 1.5hr so it wont break the bank, but still false advertisement. There is actually free wifi that you sometimes get on the roof from DICT. There is no reception anywhere so you'll have to get the wifi most likely to book your transport back etc.

Really nice people. Lhoren answered all our questions and was able to help us arrange transportation to the Cauayan airport from Batad. She cooks great meals. Options for vegans and vegetarians. Great prices. Hot water. Laundry services. Squat toilets. Cheap WiFi vouchers available. Beautiful view from the rooftop and good location for all the hiking in Batad. You can hike independently, or Lhoren can help you get a guide. Value massages available, offered by people all around town. Everyone knows Lhoren. If you need help finding her place just ask around. Also, walking sticks available to use! We look forward to recommending this place to our friends and would stay again.

Windows do not have screens. But there are mosquito nets for bug protection. It’s a rural area, and a little noisy with all the animals, and there are some bugs, as you’d expect. Ear plugs do the trick. Very clean place and cools down at night and mosquito netting helps prevent bites. Lhoren quoted us 7,000 for a van to Cauayan from Batad, but her husband (the driver) charged us 8,000 when we arrived at the airport. Not a big deal, but maybe make sure everyone is clear on the price before you get in the car.

Location is amazing, Batad is super worth it. Authentic experience with local, the owner was very helpful and funny, made us feel like home. Basic accomodation but working well (hot water)

Litterally living in the middle of nature + neighbours, be ready to hear roosters and dogs starting at 4am Again, basic accomodation and no signal, but it was nice to disconnect ! Ask extra blankets if too cold at night

A very basic place as you would expect in a place like Batad but has all the amenities needed, including food, comfy bed and even a rooftop which is a nice place to read after a morning hike around the rice terraces. The family that runs the guesthouse is super friendly and very responsive to messages. There is no wifi, but you can buy a wifi package very cheaply if you really need it during your visit.

The walls are very thin so if you value privacy, it might not be the best option. There is only one bathroom and it doesn't lock which could be a problem.
