The Captain's Lodge Room Only accommodation

Nostalgic feel of the place. Very enjoyable

Perfect in every way. Owners were extremely accommodating, and were willing to accept a parcel on my behalf. My “go to” accommodation in Whitby from now on.

Good location & accommodation. NB it was room-only and so no breakfast. Plenty of cafes nearby though & spare coffee etc easily accessible. Hosts were friendly enough although we didn't interact much as house/room was self-accessed. Whitby is an amazing location so pretty much sells itself!

Only relatively minor point (and beyond the control of the hosts!) is that parking is at a premium in this area although we did manage to park across the road for most of our stay. Permits are available at a small charge and I'd advise familiarising yourself with how they work!

To many stairs when you suffer from arthritis

The location was great with a lovely sea view. The room was large, spacious and had what you need. Plenty of tea, coffee, and such (extras in the hallway in case you ran out).

The windows need replacing. It was windy (which i know cant be helped) but the windows rattle and bang. The glass in One window was held together with tape and the other window was duct taped round the frame for some reason. The bathroom was very cold and the bed was too soft (bed is preference rather than issue).
