Chalet Karaka

I extended my stay to 3 nights, when Ngarie popped in to collect payment. Loved how the Chalet is tucked away in the most perfect place.(the rock path is tricky-sensible shoes a must...says she who wore heels) I sat for hours listening to the theraputic rhythm of water, dancing down a stoney bed of rocks n boulders. I requested some wood (managed to stretch it over 2 nights, bonus!!!) for the brazier. It was magical to sit & hear both the brook babbling along & the fire crackling. I fully recommend Chalet Karaka. pg♡2025

No hot chocolate was a bummer.

Cleverly renovated into a charming and private chalet with a very comfy bed. Great wee bathroom and lovely hearing the stream nearby.

Only downside was there was no hot water our second night.

Liked the shower

The cooking facilities, no microwave and a less than ideal oven.

Such a unique property to stay at right beside the river in the trees. Very private, we had the river all to ourselves. The shower and bathroom have giant windows looking into the garden which is quite spectacular. Bathrobes were handy as you need to go outside to get between the bedroom and bathroom. The coffee machine was a bonus and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Didn't realise there was no milk provided, but a quick trip to the supermarket sorted that.

The property was rundown, rodents in the wall lining, garden completely overgrown with noxious weed(wandering Jew). The bed and linen and pillows need replacing. The drains are clogged so not running properly. We would not recommend

Kitchen was extremely well equipped. Bathroom was one of a kind.
