Beautiful cottage very central

Staircase was hairy

The property was spotless and exceptionally clean, with a very comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. The location was fantastic, close to the beaches, as well as a great selection of shops and restaurants within easy reach. We wish we could have stayed more.

The only minor downside was the steep stairs, though the owner was very transparent about this and it was clearly included in the information before we booked. Being on the third floor also meant it could get a little warm at times. A portable or convertible air conditioner, or a small cooling unit, would be a great addition especially on hotter days but it certainly didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment of the stay. We would still highly recommend this property and are very thankful for a great stay.

Perfect location, cozy room, a bit small but with all necessary. Karen was really nice and helpful. She prepared some biscuits and fruit daily for guests.

We loved our stay! We booked 2 rooms for our family and couldn’t be happier with the accommodation. Just steps from the beach, cozy and comfortable. Karen and Amanda were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the loft room with beautiful views across the harbour. The bed was comfortable with gorgeous crisp bedding, fluffy towels & location perfect for every thing.

This is my second time staying in the Du Maurier Room. I loved it so much the first time that I came back a year later. Such a lovely house and room! I’m 5 ft 10, so it’s a bit of a squeeze where the ceiling is lowered, but that just makes it quirky and fun, I don’t mind it at all for a weekend!

I loved everything about this place - location (right between surfers and fishermen parts of town - two steps from both but on a quiet street), exterior of the cottage, interior of the room, colours in decor, patchwork blanket, cloud-like mattress, selection of teas and biscuits in rooms, handmade flapjacks and fruits, sea view, attentive room service. This place was just perfect for my first solo trip to Cornwall, it's so cozy and authentic to the area! I'm looking forward to come back again!

I think if you're taller than 5'8" the Du Maurier Room in the attic might not be comfortable - stairs are quite narrow and you almost need to climb to not hit your head, but for me (5'5") it was just perfect and actually fun - reminded me of my childhood
