The Elms Guest House Bristol

Easy to find with private parking. Nicely located in the Bristol area and as an added bonus the view from my room was great. Host was very accommodating, friendly and informative about the local area.

The hotel itself is a work in progress, I completely understand why the hotel is continuing to operate from a business perspective so it will be great to see what the building is like once it's finished.

It was quiet

Loose stair carpet, structural cracks, not a single hanger or hook to hang things on, sink blocked and slow draining, shower tray yellow with age and grouting brown and discoloured, drain corroded, brown splashes on underside of loo seat, window cill was exposed rubble/ bricks.

Tidiness.

Nice and comfy room. Very helpful owner.

Location and quiet

The bathroom needs an upgrade . Adequate tea tray but no milk.

Clean, bright, looked like it had recently been decorated inside

Didn’t look great from outside. Parking is a bit tight.

Off street parking available. Proprieter was aimiable. On suit toilet and shower facilities were clean and in good condition, the electric shower works very well and the water for washing and shaving can be as hot as you would wish. The tea and instant coffee supplied is adequate along with white, brown sugar and sweeteners. the kettle, drinking vessals were spotlessly clean and also very importantly the kettle. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. Check out is at 10.00 A good 5 stars for the above.

Breakfeast non existant, not a biscuit or slice of toast to be had. Interior decor needs a complete revamp, there is too much dated brown furnishings which are water stained and not in good condition. The very very small TV in the room allocated to me was positioned uncomfortably very high and needs to be relocated as to not reflect glaze from the window. Check out is at 10.00 but in my opinion anyone who would want leave that late or extend that time would be because of hangover, illness or death or maybe to go to a meeting later, luckily I fell into the latter catergory. Disappointingly no breakfeast so it's not a B&B it's just a B. MISS REPRESENTATION SPRINGS TO MIND AND THIS I THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED AT TIME OF BOOKING. Left felling that I should have asked for partial refund.
