Hotel Vida Bella

Breakfast was awesome. Always different -- last morning was two courses, first hot rice porridge and then pancakes with all the trimmings, syrup, jam, butter & fresh fruit juice. Very communal, friendly atmosphere with guests sitting together at the dining table chatting and the staff very attentive and gracious. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Mine was a suite with large patio doors opening out to private sitting area overlooking the beautiful central courtyard.

Hummm...tough question. There were some ants but that's probably a condition of the climate.

Private, secure, lovely outside space, well tended. Communal breakfast table great for visiting with other travelers. Breakfast always good. Staff helpful, friendly and efficient. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was delicious. Served around a common table or under an enormous old tree in the garden. Like staying in a friendly home. We stayed in a casita across the garden from the main building. The staff and family were very helpful including the young 10 year old son whose English is very good.

Toilet needs a bit of fixing.

A gem in a busy place. the courtyard and sitting were so beautiful. Lucy and Manuel were fabulous.

I would NOT stay here again.

They gave me unreliable information on the availability of taxi services that I relied upon to ensure being able to make an early flight BEFORE extending my reservation for a day. Stay in Guadalajara if you have an early flight. They would not remove the cancellation fee for the entire day that I did not get to use because the taxi information they gave me was bad. I walked to the bus station/taxi stand one week prior (on a Sunday and the same time I would be needing a taxi) to ensure I could make my flight. There was only one taxi that was available from 5:30am to 6:00am with two bus arrivals. I tried working with the hotel for a private driver. It was a one way communication process. They did not respond at all for a day and a half and only when I was letting them know I had to change my plans and book a second hotel room in order to ensure I could make my flight.

I would not stay here again.

The internet is unusable for long periods of time. I requested a few times for them to try rebooting the router. They were not interested in trying. They do not accept credit cards even though Booking.com info shows it. Washing machine (service) is actually $150mxn and not available for personal use.. The TV is in the common area not the room. Air Conditioning is actually ceiling fans and open windows. Didn't sleep well in the bed. It was short and not very comfortable. 2 of 7 days the room was not cleaned. Washcloth was never changed then dissappeared.
