Kanazawa Guesthouse Pongyi

You don't come here for the beds or the showers, you come to meet the couple managing the place. Every night the owner sits with the guests and teaches them about origami and calligraphy and Japanese things, and he learns about your things. It's a homestay, in a wonderful historic house, with tatami and decorations. Location? If you ask what is the best scenic to reach the center my answer to anybody would be "start from the Pongyi Guesthouse and follow the canal". This is the kind of place that can change your perspective in your trip.

Well, it is a house. So the experience it's intimate. This means one shower and one toilet, and the facilities are not the same you'll find in a big hostel/capsule hotel. Your noise will be heard. And it was cold that night. Outside of that this place will stay in my memory way longer than many others.

It was such a a charming old building with a neat history.

Nina was a great hostess!

Such a spectacular stay! Nina San goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and provides local recommendations. She offers plentiful resources such as maps and walking routes to sights and districts—she even makes delicious coffee and breakfast in the morning for cheaper than you’ll find elsewhere. She runs a sensational homestay that I would recommend to anyone and everyone! Clean facilities in a traditional Japanese home and nightly group activities make pongyi incredibly special.

J’ai passé les meilleurs moments de mon voyage à cette guest house. Il y a des activités tous les soirs, ce qui vous permets de rencontrer les autres voyageurs. L’ensemble de la maison est très propre et les lits sont très confortable. Si je reviens au Japon, j’y retournerai !

Das Guesthouse ist eine der besten Unterkünfte, die ich je hatte. Nina war super hilfreich und hat uns neben vielen tollen Tipps für Kanazawa auch super Restaurantempfehlungen gegeben. Die Unterkunft ist gut ausgestattet und liegt nur 10min vom Bahnhof weg. Neben den Tipps organisiert Nina auch tägliche Aktivitäten. Wer eine gemütliche Unterkunft mit tollen Begegnung sucht, ist im Pongyi definitiv richtig!

Absolut nichts zu beanstanden!

Bellissima esperienza da Pongyi guesthouse. Nina è stata molto accogliente e crea una bella atmosfera tra gli ospiti, sia internazionali sia giapponesi. Abbiamo potuto fare anche un piccolo workshop di origami e parlare con lei della cultura giapponese, dato che parla molto bene inglese. La casa è molto piccola ma curata in ogni dettaglio e estremamente pulita.
