The Bridge Helmsdale

The room was nice, tidy and clean. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet location.

There was no one to greet us when we arrived. We waited half an hour then with no response to any bell ringing or messages sent to the phone number, worked out (from a piece of paper on the desk) which room we were in, went looking for it and found it open with key in the door. Wifi is pointless-ridiculous number of drop outs and slow. Shower is a nozzle over a bath, no where to mount it to make it a shower. But you wouldn't bother because the "hot" water was tepid at best. Breakfast was cold. If you want hot food you obviously need to be there when it starts.

Nothing really. Could do with a mirror in the bedroom and an option for a stand up shower for choice.

Lovely room and wonderful bathroom

Not many hotels in Helmsdale so you are likely to book the Bridge. Easy to find with parking adjacent. Some would call it rustic, others old-fashioned. Lovely log fire and decent sized room for one person. Good b'fast was self-service so bring your appetite. fine for a one-night stop.

Nothing

It is an old hotel, but with lost of charm. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good too. There is also a nice restaurant next door where we had one of our best meals while in Scotland. Thank you Hans, you made us feel almost like at home.
