The Bridge Helmsdale

The location was quiet and the hotel relaxing and comfortable . It was lost in time and we immediately felt a warmth in the surroundings Our room was light and spacious , the bed so comforting with an adequate en suite . We would request this room again . Breakfast was good for choice and unhurried . A nice place to relax and unwind .

If the hotel had a bar that would have been great : However it was no hardship wandering up to the Bannockburn Inn for a meal and drink . A lovely welcome pub with a good menu .

Situated in a lovely little town. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

On arrival we entered an empty, quite dark lounge area full of nick naks and taxidermy! No-one on ‘reception’. A note on reception with my name and a number which I assumed was room number. Found room on very top floor. Found out from another guest that owner locks all doors at 10pm! Public car park was across the road. There was access to the back of the property but unclear as to whether this was for guest use & if used how to access the building. Breakfast was good but signs over food saying ‘no pig outs’ and telling guests not to remove food from the dining room was a bit off putting. No farewell. Did see the owner briefly at breakfast. Didn’t see any other staff. Large en-suite but only a bath, no shower. Certainly not the type of hotel experience I was expecting.

Ein netter Empfang, ein Feuer im Kamin. Der nette Mann hat sich bemüht und versucht, jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Beim Frühstück hat er uns seinen Wanderstock gezeigt und erzählt, wie er vor Jahren in der Schweiz gewandert ist. Zum Frühstück hatten wir alles was wir brauchten. Wir würden gerne wieder kommen in's Bridge nach Helmsdale.

Wir können uns nicht beklagen. Preis - Leistung hat gestummen.

Convenient location. Quiet. Good views. Comfortable. Old fashioned charm. Good breakfast.

In the center of town. Host was very courteous. Rooms are large, beds comfortable. Breakfast was good. No issues.
