Riad Nouhal

Clean,Tucked away just off the main road the location of this riad is great, we had a 4 night 3 day break, close to tourist attractions, friendly staff, Mohammad and Jamal were friendly and helpful, and the cleaning lady, was a joy, despite our language barrier, she was helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the roof terrace was a bonus, lovely setting for breakfast, relaxing with a book or a cold drink during the day/ evening. Downside: bathrooms are small but on the whole, I don't think it really mattered as they were in good working order. A/C was a godsend during the night time. Pretty, quaint and charming. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed 2 weeks at the riad and had a great time! All the staff were super nice and helpful! Mohamed and jamal specially made us feel like family and always made sure everything was pertaining to. We will comeback for sure. Also, great breakfast

A pleasant surprise that we found to stay. A hidden place in the narrow streets, but we were received with a huge friendliness by Moahmed, and before we had asked for special attention because we would arrive in a hurry to go out for dinner, and they were fantastic. They left us fruit in the room and the surprise I asked for. It serves perfectly to stay, very close to the Medina. Small but clean bathroom, as is the room. Typical Moroccan breakfast, and the staff very attentive and friendly. Jamal is very attentive and always available.

We stayed for 8 days. We were treated like family. Arranged airport pick up with Riad Nouhal and the pickup at 1 am was flawless. Warm welcome by the driver. Met by another staff from the Riad once you get into the tiny streets not passable by car. Taken right to our room. We even booked the 3 day desert trip to Merzouga with Mohammad who is the manager. That trip was awesome. Super organized. Room was cleaned everyday. Staff who works there, Jamal was super nice and attentive. Location is perfect to walk to the old town and new town. Can’t beat this Riad for the price. First experience at a Riad and first time in Morocco. They speak English and French. Generous breakfast. Felt safe in area.

When we arrived at the Riad we were told that the room wasn’t available and we were moved to another Riad for one night. Jamal who took us was lovely & he collected us the next morning to take us to the Riad. The first room we were put in had a 3/4 bed in it, we were 2 friends sharing. Due to the fact we were originally staying for 7 nights I spoke to Jamal about the unsutiable arrangements and we swiftly swapped rooms. The two rooms in which we had were very small. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny and neither myself (5’6) nor my friend (5’3) could sit comfortably on the toilet, we had to sit sideways which, especially for myself (disabled) wasn’t great. The beds we got had loose bolts on which luckily enough I spotted and tightened. Cleanliness standards were okay but there were occasions where we found rogue black hairs on our towels etc (Blonde and a red head). Breakfast was okay, simple we were offered tea & coffee daily. No water. The swimming pool area was okay but we did find it lacked privacy & it was where people were seated when they checked in. Another thing was noise carried, there were a group of middle aged French people who were rowdy and rude at all hours of the day. I was woken up multiple times each night because of this. Location wise this Riad was great! Located in the Kasbah area it had plenty of things to see and do just a short walk away. We decided to cut our holiday short and returned home after just 4 nights due to myself not coping. In all, I think this Riad would be suitable for young people who don’t mind roughing it. The basic amenities were there. Hot water, breakfast, AC. Thank you Jamal for looking after us!

Mohammed absolutely rude and aggressive manner when asked about basic standards in both of our rooms. Dirty, dusty, unclean, cobwebs, no toilet roll, no towels. Demanded city tax payment the same night we got there around midnight ish, tired and no money exchanged. They didnt want to help and come to any resolution dispite them having sistering properties. We thankfully left there the same night luckily for us with the help of a local. This is more of a hostel than a riad, even though regardless of what it is it doesn't meet basic standards and is advertised as 4/4.5 stars but the gentleman Sead claimed to my agent that it is 3 star. I've been in better standards in a 2.5 star, compared to what we were presented with when we arrived.

Toilettet var virkelig svært at bruge, idet væggen var helt op ad wc’et, hvilket gjorde at mine ben ikke kunne være der.

The Riad was missing a service desk. It said it had breakfast at 8:30 but at 9:30 there was still no breakfast to be seen. The walls were very thin and it was hard to sleep. The front door was situated inside a dark alleyway which felt quite unsafe at night. But it was clean.

This place is acceptable but leaves a lot to be desired. Service, amenities, and facilities were significantly worse than the other places I stayed in Marrakech and Fes and at the same time the cost was more here. Perhaps this is because the other places were dars and this is a riad. However, it has no charm and there is little to recommend. You would do better to look elsewhere.
