Jungle View River Camping

Nous avons apprécié le calme ,la nature.Le dîner était excellent.

En pleine jungle, dépaysement total. La propriétaire nous a préparé un excellent dîner et petit déjeuner ! L’accueil a été très chaleureux.

Le logement n’est pas vraiment à l’adresse indiquée, voire très excentré du centre. Peut être aider davantage aux déplacements sur place pour faciliter l’expérience et découvrir le village.

The lady was kind and also (after some confusion) allowed us to stay a day earlier when we turned up on the wrong day! Food was simple but well made and good value.

Communication was difficult, on WhatsApp, phone and in person. (Fair enough, were English speakers and they're not, but worth bearing in mind). Very loud disco music until midnight (which you don't expect in the jungle). No mossie nets on doors of tents. Accommodation is a little tired and run down, and the pics are slightly more glamorous than the reality (I got done by the pics of tikki lights and fires aha). Place is a little out the way. Our tuk tuk driver went down three wrong streets before turning up at one point. Bear in mind there is little to do in Udawalawe. I'd turn up in the evening, eat a simple meal in and leave after your morning safari if I was you. I think we were out of season as it was deserted. When we needed to speak to the staff or was hard to find them.

An excellent stay at jungle view river camp. The room was spacious and clean with everything we needed for a lovely stay. Bed was very comfortable and room had a much needed fan. The host was excellent and very accommodating- he organised a fantastic safari for us and our guide even served us breakfast in the national park with a table and chairs overlooking the reservoir. The host also organised a brilliant Sri Lankan massage which was a great way to finish the day after the bumpy safari ride. The dinner and breakfast cooked by the hosts wife was outstanding! All meals were cooked with ingredients grown on his land and it was honestly the best curry we have ever tasted. Certainly the best meal we ate in Sri Lanka! Although the prices are listed in USD on the website, ideally try to pay in the local currency otherwise the host won't get the best exchange rate from the dollars, which we didn't realise. Overall we would highly recommend staying at jungle view river camp.

We've found a hidden gem! I'm so excited to share my experiences about the Jungle View River Camping! The accommodation was so clean and modern. As well as the super cool glamping tent, there was a lovely little terrace where you could chill. The owner was so friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The breakfast and dinner were simply mouth-watering! We also booked a safari through the accommodation, which was an absolute dream!
