Bird House Mirissa

After being in sri lanka for 7 weeks I can say this is one of the best places I've stayed. The location is amazing, not too far to walk too the beaches or the centre of mirissa for some shopping or to visit restaurants for some food. As soon as I booked a I received a message from Ishan with tips on where to go and what to do in mirissa as well as a menu for the food they serve. I tried the chicken curry and fish curry for lunch and dinner, breakfast i tried the pani pol and the coconut rotti with Dahl. The food was amazing 👏 Ishan mom is the person who cooks the food which is really nice. As Ishan wasn't there all the time he would message throughout the day to make sure everything is going okay and there are no issues. I didnt have any issues whilst being here but if there was a message to Ishan would have sorted it straight away.

Only thing I didnt like is that I couldn't stay here for a few more days as I had to go back elsewhere 🖤

An amazing house in nature, entirely built by the host and his father. The host and his family are incredible people who treat you like a brother and provide you with lots of information throughout your stay in Mirissa.

It was such a sweet little treehouse, with a little bathroom and a balcony in front! It got a bit hot in the night, but with the fan it was totally fine, around the bed there is a mosquito net which is really nice! All in all it provided a very comfortable experience in the trees! If you want you can even order dinner or breakfast from the family who runs this. And Ishan, the owner, helped us with everything we would’ve needed and always made sure we are happy.

We stayed with Ishan for 2 nights and we couldn't be happier! The tree house is very nice and clean. It has a ventilator for the heat, incense for mosquitoes and repellent. Ishan helped us with everything we needed from minute 1 when we made the reservation. Excellent attention on his part both by Whatsapp and in person :) he received us with a very tasty welcome tea and we tried the fish curry made by his mother. Very very delicious and filling! Also the breakfast pani pol, we loved it!! We are very happy to have stayed at Bird House and I recommend it without hesitation! Ishan helped us with all our doubts and recommended places to eat that were perfect :)

Absolutely loved the location and Ishan and his wonderful family. They were so helpful and welcoming with everything 😊 Home cooked dinner and breakfasts were also delicious!

Can be a bit hot but once fan is on everything is fine 😊

The location was great. Besides, you can enjoy watching a beautiful male peacock who comes near the house every couple of hours. I recommend the place to people who want a calm place to rest in Mirissa.

Stayed here 1 night and i had a very positive experience. Great communication and such a lovely space. Ishan gave lots of recommendations of things to do in mirissa and was very helpful. His mum is an amazing cook. I really recommend eating in for a traditional local experience of the cuisine. Hope to come back to this cozy spot!
