Bird House Mirissa

Perfect! If you're looking for a quiet nest in the local area, that’s the treasure! It felt like living on the tree thanks to its beautiful, simple wooden interior and the height. From the balcony you can spot peacocks, geckos and other birds and feel like one. You can get very tasty, authentic Sri Lankan food, cooked by the mum of Ishan. He is such kind and warm-hearted person, answering questions and giving very good recommendations. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay there longer because the house was booked. If we will ever come back to Sri Lanka we will come to that nest for sure.

The family I stayed with was very kind. They supported me in every way and gave great recommendations. The room was very comfortable, and everything had been thoughtfully arranged. The location was within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. If I come back, I would definitely stay here again

One of the best stays I had in Sri Lanka. Loved the sound of the birds in the morning and being away from the busyness. Ishan was always there if I needed anything and provided me with information about the area. Not to mention his Mom's homecooking. Very nice and comforting food. I had lunch on my arrival and dinner that same evening. Also I had breakfast the day I checked out. Very happy. Thanks for a great stay

The tap in the bathroom sink could be a little stronger.

This place is really homely and makes you feel instantly relaxed! The type of accomodation that you’re happy to stay and have relaxing mornings, and happy to come back to after exploring! Ishaan gave us lots of helpful tips about the area and his mum makes delicious breakfast and dinner! We ate there every day and definitely recommend it! The natural environment surrounding and the vibe that Ishaan has created is truly lovely - a million times better than bright white walls! The place is very clean and practical, with a private bathroom and lovely little deck outside.

The place was really wonderful. It was walking distance to all the beaches in Mirissa including the main Mirissa Beach, Secret Beach, Turtle Beach, and Coconut Tree Hill. The host, Ishan and his family were wonderful. You could also order breakfast and lunch from them if you'd like authentic Sri Lankan food. Ishan was super helpful in giving suggestions and was very genuine too. The place is clean and neat.

Nothing really major. But the place don't come with hot water heater if it's anyone's concern. However the weather is warm so I don't think it's a necessity for water heater. They also accept payment in cash, just heads up - but the ATMs are also walking distance or a short tuktuk ride away, so it's not a problem.

Everything perfect! The host is very very nice and the place very cute and clean!! We also had very good local breakfast. The owner and his family will do everything to make you comfortable. The place is one of the best we stayed at our entire trip

A beautiful almost tree hut style accomodation. Great to be high up with lovely Sri Lanka jungle surroundings. Fantastic stay. Mothers food is exceptional good and so obliging. Great location to beach , restaurants either via walking or tuktuk. Loved the stay

the family is super nice and friendly, they have advised me good places for diving, restaurants and transport. I loved hearing birds also in the night and I felt save on the raining days hearing the rain

We really really loved the hospitality of Bird House Mirissa. We felt wonderfully welcomed from the moment we arrived here, Ishan welcomed us the most refreshing tea and home made biscuits. The room was comfortable and clean, 100% value for money. Ishan helped us with all the necessary information, he even recommended us a secret spot from where we enjoyed the best sunset in Mirissa. He also helped us with hiring taxis for intercity traveling with a cheapest price range. And one thing I must recommend is to try their food. Ishan's mother is such a lovely lady and an excellent cook! In our 6 days travel of SriLanka, this homestay's meal was our most favorite.
