Eco Cabanas Marakolliya

Very very welcoming friendly host who was so kind and happy to help with everything!

It wasn’t the most clean place but I do think as an affordable option it’s good value for money

I recently had the pleasure of staying in a charming eco cabana near the serene Marakolliya Beach, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! The location is perfect for anyone seeking peace and tranquility. The beach, just a short walk away, is absolutely stunning and refreshingly uncrowded – an ideal spot to relax and soak up the beauty of nature. The cabana itself was thoughtfully designed, blending seamlessly with its surroundings while offering all the comfort you need for a rejuvenating stay. Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the fresh sea breeze was pure bliss. One of the highlights of my trip was kayaking nearby. The calm waters and beautiful surroundings made it a delightful adventure. If you're looking for a quiet escape where you can unwind and enjoy a pristine beach experience, this eco cabana at Marakolliya Beach is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!

Few holes in mosquito net but at this price, cannot complain too much

I just loved this place! They have a lovely dog, which accompanied me to the beach, which is nearby and very clean. Wonderful place to relax. Nearby is a shop and many tourist restaurants. When you want tasty homemade food, I recommend Food Haven, which is 10 min walk from the cabanas.

A fridge would be nice to have

The host Viduksha is very relaxed and also very accommodating, helping us out with everything, even if requests were v last minute.

It's tough to keep the place clean but there was no cleaning at all during the day. Sand got everywhere, and with the humidity things will naturally just get a bit dirty.

The cabanas themselves are very cool and comfortable to stay in. Lovely views abs it insurers.chilled out. The location is incredible, a short walk to a gorgeous beach. There were lots of dogs around this area including a pair who slept on our balcony and accompanied us on trips to the beach. So if you are afraid of dogs maybe it's not the place for you but we loved it. The owner was helpful in arranging tuk tuks and our onward travel too.

There is some outdated info on the website saying that they do meals. They don't but there are options close by. Some people staying nearby our Cabana decided to play really loud music at 3 am, which woke up several guests. The owner of the Cabana just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do, when we mentioned it the next day. This was a bit of a shame.

a little far from city

Beautiful place to stay, the owner was so helpful and showed me the short cut to the beach. Such good value for money. Also, I was given a free upgrade which was lovely :)

Little bit dusty in rooms

decent sized room and comfortable bed, good location close to the lagoon and beach. we just wanted a place to sleep since we were in transit and it met our purpose. The next door property is the place to be for beach and lagoon activities.

The location to the property can be misleading maybe due to lagoon location, google maps can show a very narrow path only 1 vehicle can travel and if you get stuck you will have to reverse the whole way back. get proper directions from the property, even though the room is big the lighting is poor, very dimly lit, and the rooms are sort of wood cabanas and there are some signs of critters here and there.

We really really liked it here. Our Cabana was really clean and cozy and the balcony’s are so nice to just relax a bit. It’s just a couple of minutes to the beach and some restaurants and a small shop is near by. To go to Tangalle and around we would suggest to rent a scooter. It’s cheaper than always use a Tuktuk. The owner is really friendly and helpful! :) If you do like to stay in the nature, in some peace we would 100% recommend it.
