Duthus Lodge Guest House

David is the gem of the lodge. My sister and I arrived with food poisoning very early in the morning and he managed to get us checked in 4 hours ahead of time. He was very caring and attentive. Checked in on us and gave some wonderful suggestions to see. The location of the lodge was wonderful (very calm but not far from Edinburgh old town). The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thank you again David!

Great location, the lodge looks very authentic as well. The manager David was very friendly and courteous.

The floor in the bathroom feels like ice, the water pressure isn't high, and the bathroom in general is quite small.

Perfect stay! The house is so beautiful and adds to our Edinburgh trip. The check in was really easy. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable and the temperate perfect for a warm and convenient sleep. The location was also less than 10min to the center by bus. Overall 10/10!

The staff was exceptional—very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Their professionalism and welcoming attitude made my stay truly pleasant. The location is excellent, situated right next to a public transport stop, making it convenient for exploring the city. The room was cozy, clean, and everything functioned as expected. In terms of value for money, the accommodation exceeded my expectations. Another highlight was the breakfast, which was delicious and varied, featuring eggs, beans, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, fresh fruit, pastries, and a selection of drinks such as coffee, tea, and juices.

The only downside was the lack of heating in the bathroom. Since the ventilation leads directly outside, the bathroom could get quite cold. Additionally, the sink had separate taps for hot and cold water, positioned about 15 cm apart, which made it somewhat inconvenient to use.
