"Great stay with friendly staff"

10.0

The room was very nice and clean. Food was also well good with good prices. Location was great. We also did the camel safari for two days which was amazing, big thanks to Osaman our camel guide. At rhe hotel the staff really put effort to make our stay comfy and we really felt home, thanks to jimmy, Kurban, diladar (adorable) and Kalu :)

"Great hotel and camel safari and WOULD recommend despite some issues with expections vs reality"

8.0

Hotel: We were impressed by the hotel/ hostel itself as it was quite cheap. Nice rooftop area to chill in and Jammin (the owner) organised us our camel safari which was great. He also picked us up and dropped us off at the train station free of charge which was a great touch especially as we had a late check in (arrived 11:30pm). Safari: They provide all the food which is very plentiful and freshly cooked on an open fire, it felt very remote / non-touristy as they said it would do (We only saw one other couple over the dunes on the other side) which we loved. The night under the stars was amazing and the beds and blankets they provided were comfy. We personally felt that one night was enough because we felt really sweaty and gross from the heat and wanted to shower but this didn’t take away from the experience. We were also able to use a room at the hotel afterwards to shower in and relax for a bit before our train which was great.

Hotel: Room was great except there was no remote for the AC so it was stuck on 24 degrees the whole time. They did give us a replacement remote but it didn’t work. Showers weren’t hot but that really did not matter as temperatures were 40C outside. Safari: We really enjoyed it however it is worth saying that it wasn’t exactly as described. Jammin builds a good rapport but the actual safari was with his cousin, Hussain (who was also nice). We got up to leave at 8:30am but we left at 9:15am. We were told we would be on the camel by 10:30am but when we got there, it was very hot and they said that we would have lunch and then start later (which turned out to be 3:45pm so we were waiting around for 2-3 hours). We saw a few villages and oasis’ which whilst they were nice, they weren’t particularly exciting. We only rode the camels for 1 hour on the first day and then 2 hours the next morning. They should do more riding on the first day than the second. Whilst this actually felt like MORE than enough riding, it was just more of an issue with expectation vs reality as opposed to enjoyment (which we did!). We did feel like we got good value for money. He told us we didn’t need to take cash but then of course we needed to tip the camel driver and also he arranged for us to have cold beers delivered to the dune which was really cool in the evening (luckily we had a bit of cash with us but I would recommend to take some, at least 1000 rupees as just in case). Also take some little toys/ pens for the children in the village if you can as we didn’t have anything on us.

"Beautiful rooftop, freshly home made food, best caring stuff, comfortable beds"

10.0

The crazy camel is located right at the gates of the beautiful fort. In the accommodation of Jamin, the man in charge, you enter the heart of Desert Thar…The food is always freshly prepared, and on the lovingly furnished and decorated roof terrace we met backpackers as well as families, friends and solo travellers. Jamin and his team was always there for everyone. We felt at home. The camel safari is the best in town. You are led by guides who live in the desert and take you into their world.
