Not well maintained, bathroom not nice, remote doesn't work, the bathroom is open plan not really nice at all, bathroom was dirty

The guest house is situated in a shrubby location, offering plenty of fresh air and the lovely Hillcrest climate. I love the serenity of the location. Breakfast was also glorious and staff members were friendly and kind.

DuBoirs is not a boutique guesthouse. There is no attentive/ personalized guest service. I stayed in a room with the kitchen directly above it, and from as early as 6:30 am, there was hard stomping, shouting, and different items dropped on the floor, which interrupted my restful sleep. Understandably, staff must prepare guest's breakfast early in the morning. However, there was no regard for guests in rooms close to the kitchen, who wanted to sleep in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings that the venue offers. The shower head in room 7 where I stayed was broken. There was also no soap/ shower gel, and I had to go to the shops to buy that - something that should be found in a boutique guesthouse. The blanket was also dirty and smelled like it hadn't been washed in a while. There was also no smart TV, i.e., no Netflix, YouTube (which is listed among the standard amenities on offer). There was no iron and ironing board in the room. Wi-fi didn't work on day 1, only worked on the second day.

The breakfast was great when I did have breakfast. The location was also great with easy access to where I needed to be. The room was spacious with a nice big bed and extra blanket. The room was serviced and cleaned every day.

I left early every morning so the hosts didn't provide breakfast every day even though the rate included breakfast.

Beautiful scenery

Rooms does not have sound proof and you literally hear word by word from the next door room . Aircons not working and no alternative as it was cold .
