We booked last minute and we had a really nice stay. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless, and the room was really spacious! We had a really nice home cooked meal the night we were there, and we did a safari the following morning. The owners and their daughter were so nice and helpful.

Excellent place. Very comfy, new facilities and a large room. Great value compared to nearby Yala hotels. The family who run it are lovely and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast there too and both were delicious. Nithiya also gave us a tour round the temple which was amazing and really insightful.

Amazing guest house in Kataragama. We were welcomed like we were part of the family which really offered a lovely guest house experience. Dinusha, Prasanna and their daughter Nithya are the loveliest host ! The room was more than comfortable with a very good AC, a very big bed and a great bathroom. It was maybe one of the most comfortable rooms we had during our 3 weeks stay in Sri Lanka. The guest rooms have a little terrace where you will be able to enjoy your meals. Dinusha offers cooking classes and serves the BEST rice and curry. Cherry on the cake is that Prasanna is a Yala safari guide and has a jeep to take you there. He takes the time to look for animals and show you the gorgeous nature of Yala, including a take away breakfast cooked by Dinusha. Their daughter Nithya is a brilliant young lady and eager to have the guests spending high quality time in Kataragama. She has a very good level of English and takes the guests to a temple visit giving clear explanations on the temple’s history. She also took some time to give us good advices on our next stops, and really built a beautiful relationship with us. We left with a heavy heart as this very quickly felt like our own home - but we were extremely happy to have had the opportunity to live a little part of our trip with the kindest local family and look forward to seeing them again !

Basic room with AC in nice garden opposite the lake, run by a very nice and friendly family. They can provide breakfast and help arrange transfer or safari.
