We stayed one night at Lake Front Yala Safari to see the fantastic ceremonies in the temple complex. The room was clean, quite comfortable and the family were friendly. Breakfast, which was extra, was ok. We didn’t do the safari, but they did drive us to Ella and we saw elephants on the road through the park, which was nice.

The property is undergoing renovation, and the owner rushed us out for checkout as the next set of guests had arrived. Booked this place due to the high rating others had provided, but there is on-going construction. And the owner suggested to cancel our booking after we reached the place and i actually had called him an hour before. He could have informed us earlier through message as we were in constant tocuh but chose not to :-( and we reached late around 5 30 pm as it was too late we stayed back. There was a power outage for 1 hr, and I was about to step out and search for another place as my kid was getting cranky, but power came back, and we were too tired to find another place. The owner was courteous, and Safari was slightly overpriced as compared to other vendors (the going rate was 21 to 22k and charged 25k and 14k for Jeep charged 16k) and his jeep had starting issues (battery had concked off, there was a spot where other jeeps were waiting where leopard did a kill and was about to cross the road and our guy couldnt wait as he couldn't swicth off the engine and had to keep moving). The charges would have been fine (I was informed about the pricing earlier and was okay) if the house was not under renovation. Nevertheless, not a bad stay overall as the dinner served was very nice and fresh.

Sweet family run homestay in a great location for a Yala Safari. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with AC for a great price. Homemade rice and curry was the best we have had in Sri Lanka so far! The family couldn’t do enough for us, from gifting us fresh fruit from their garden, taking us to our next hotel and offering constant refreshments and snacks. Safari was absolutely brilliant and would recommend to all those coming to Yala to book through this accommodation! Keen eye for the wildlife, informative and ensured we had a wonderful time. We hope to be back and wish we spent another night!

Great room, very clean and spacious. The hosts were so kind, as well as their lovely daughter! We also did the safari with them. It was amazing! We even saw 4 leopards!

We had a great stay! The room is very big and the bed really comfortable! We also had a terrace and get delicious food freshly made from the family. We also booked the safari with them and it was amazing! Especially the experience on the elephant road feeding them 🐘 They also helped to get to the Bus Station or offer Taxi Service! Thank you

Perfect rooms! Great to stay if needing somewhere before/after Yala safari. Aircon was excellent

It's a very good place, and I recommended it for every traveller to Kataragama

The place is run by a family and it feels like it from the moment you arive. We enjoyed a very warm welcome and were invited to cook dinner with the mother. She was wonderful and cooked (with our help?) one of our best meals in Sri Lanka. They also offer safaris to Yala Nationalpark by entering through the less crowded entrance from Kataragama, which was great. We spotted many elephants as well as leopards. The room is very simple as can be expected at this price point. However, everything was very clean. Highly recommend to stay here to visit Yala and the impressive temples in Kataragama.
