Hickory Penang Hill

It's a simple place, lots of places to sit. Hot and cold water and tea, coffee, other beverages always available in the common seating area. You can choose what you want for the included breakfast from a menu. The Swiss (?) breakfast was excellent with home-made granola and yogurt.

It's a very steep walk up and down to the property to the top of Penang Hill. We're fairly fit and had good hiking boots, and it took us between 30-40 minutes to do this walk each way, in the heat and humidity, so be prepared. Since the property's garden is small, you have to do this walk if you want to go anywhere, unless you just want to sit at the property.

The view, the breakfast, the food, the convenience... and most importantly the HOST !!! There are few options to stay at Penang Hill, but we keep frequenting Raj's Hickory... truly outstanding.

Nothing.. everything was perfect!

It's great stay at Hickory. My family members love it and would like to come back again in the future. The owner is friendly and the food is good. We love the scenery from the garden. It's so easy to see sunrise from the garden and having meal in their garden is awesome. It's a great place that I would recommend to others for family gathering!

I don't like the pathway to the bungalow from the train station. It's tough for senior to walk the steep road to the house but the owner is friendly enough to help if you inform them earlier. If it's not senior, the road is fine.

Breakfast was nice

There were many insects at night if windows left opened and my spouse got sting by the bee. Probably good to have the warning and also first aid kid standby
