Good hospitality and responsive. Good food and reasonably priced. Great view of Penang. Nice, clean and quiet environment. Well maintained building and rooms. Mr.Raj & Ms.Suba hope I spelt it correctly are great help. Overall value for money & great experience staying in a colonial bungalow. Keep up the good work Mr.Raj.

This is a stunning property with probably one of the most beautiful views in Malaysia across George Town and the Straits of Malacca, with a direct view of the sunrise. The house is extremely cozy and comfortable, with tons of space and lots to explore in the surrounding area. The owner was extremely friendly and shared a beer with us whilst explaining more about the property and Penang Hill. The other staff were also very helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

The only issue is accessibility. You can only access the hotel by a paid for jeep, by a steep by path, or a train that runs just once an hour. Make sure you have good shoes!

Beautiful and comfortable house and grounds, with an amazing view over Penang. The property is surrounded by a lush forest with an abundance of wildlife such as giant squirrels, dusky leaf monkeys, and birds. The staff were very polite and helpful. Very good breakfast included, with other meals provided on request. Free flow of instant coffee and tea available. We also had fun interacting with the two cute and friendly resident dogs.

Several staff and guests were smoking even though the whole of Penang Hill is supposed to be a smoke-free area. Insects kept flying into the room via ventilation holes on the wall. Payment for meals by cash or Touch n Go only (no card). The house is a short but steep hike from the closest funicular train station, which requires a decent level of fitness.

This was meant to be a family getaway not too far from town but away nevertheless and this was perfect. It was not luxury but definitely comfort. The owner was always available and was very accommodating to all our needs. He catered very well to all the personal needs our group needed especially the vegetarian food and ensured that one of our group who had mobility issues was well taken taken of. The ambiance on the hill was awesome. The little things that made it very convenient like the tea and coffee station on each floor, the availability of lots of board games, and the homely atmosphere in the hotel were a good addition. I would definitely go back again, especially as a group.

One member of our group was badly bitten on return but that could be any insect in the jungle, as to take the train we had to walk a short distance to where the train goes along a jungle path

4 of us had a wonderful short getaway at Hickory, the owner Raj is a very friendly and respond to our question very promptly, his staff all are polite. It was raining in the morning, their simple gesture of putting 2 umbrellas outside our room is very thoughtful. Overall, well maintained and clean place, delicious and fresh food and reasonable price.

The owner of the hotel was friendly and answered all my queries promptly. He was also very accommodating. The staff were Amazing - helpful, very obliging and always service with a smile! The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Everything was really well maintained in this colonial bungalow. The views were stunning! The food was delish and we ordered a lovely carrot cake for my uncle’s birthday. The steamboat dinner on our little private veranda on a rainy evening provided for excellent night views of the city lights below and the atmospheric experience of stunning lightning bolts lighting up the night sky! What an absolute treat. Will definitely be returning! Thank you Raj & team!
