Oyado Uemasa

The Oyado is at such prime location, so convenient for our arrival with big suitcases, also a short walk to both Town centre and Ski gondolas. Huge thanks to the property owners, they are so caring providing most comfortable stay, plus beautiful and great variety of delicious breakfast.

Everything is great, nothing to dislike.

Our host was wonderful and they were extremely helpful throughout our stay.

This family ryokan is clean and comfortable. Consideraing high price accommodations in Nozawa Onsen, I think this is reasonable (both facilities and location). Hosts are friendly and helpful, not much English speaking but we understand each other and it worked out fine. Overall, I have a pleasant stay. Points to note : There is no elevator, you need some walks up and down. Shower & Hot bath is on the 1st floor and guest rooms are on 3rd & 4th floor (with clean shared toilet on the same floor) but I don't need this since one big public onsen is nearby. Host provide onsen towel and basket which is nice and handy.

Clean, nice, friendly and helpful owners. A very simple and straight forward place. Great location for getting to the slopes and for reaching restaurants etc.

The Umeda owners are amazing hosts, serving breakfast in the morning, helping us with lift passes, onsen tips, and restaurant recommendations. This is a typical Nozawa hotel, nothing like a Western hotel in a European resort. Expect an authentic stay with tatami mats and a Japanese breakfast. Those in need of high Western standards should look elsewhere.

The staff was so sweet and accommodating. They didn't speak English beyond a few recognizable words, but thanks to my rudimentary Japanese and Google Translate, communication was never an issue. They were very helpful in recommending restaurants and equipment rentals.

Great location to the ski shuttle bus stop and onsen. The hostess is very helpful in sorting out our ski passes and rental. (10 % discount through her).
