The owner is very nice and helpful.

The pool needs some modernization.

Swimming pool is not really well maintained.

Our stay at La Tonnelle guest house was a truly amazing experience. The owners are wonderful people, who went above and beyond to make us comfortable and who helped us a great amount in planning and executing our excursions (which was not always simple because we were travelling with a young baby), but most importantly they made us feel at home and amongst family. The staff is also wonderful, and very friendly. The guest house area is very pleasant to hang out, and a beautiful beach is very close by. The food is very good, especially the creole-inspired dishes.

The only small thing to mention is, since we had half-board, that sometimes it would be nice to be able to choose our dinner mains (for example if on a given day we would want vegetarian instead of a meat dish, or fruits for dessert instead of ice cream/sweets). But honestly, the main complaint we had is that we could not stay longer!

Very nice hotel, close proximity to the shops and beach, the owners were amazing made you feel welcomed, always willing to help with any queries you have. Would highly recommend this hotel

What a fantastic find! The guesthouse is directly opposite a great beach and a short distance to Grand Baie and other popular beaches. The room was big and airy, with a lovely private patio. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a choice of cold and hot items. The best part was the (optional) dinner - delicious food served family style. It’s a chance to chat to other guests and experience authentic Mauritian cuisine. The hosts, Marlene and Gert, went out of their way to make it a fantastic stay, including organising excursions. Excellent value.

Loved everything!

The People were the best, the staff/owner and the guests. Having a different dinner every night, sitting all together and listening to all kind of story's. We wished we could've stayed longer and we're definitely coming back. The owner helped us with every question or wish we had, some of the nicest, heartwarming persons I met during the last time of travel. Thank you and hope to see you soon. There are also some Restaurants and Streedfood we tried and there is also a nice Beach not to far away. We also booked a massage in the hotel and we can recommend that also.

The pillows and the bed could be more soft.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The In-house dinner with all the guests at a long table is very nice. Fresh, good food. Nice honesty bar available.

Comfortable rooms with aircon and good wifi. Very friendly hosts and staff. Good breakfast. Sea across the road, beach 200 m. Supermarket and few restaurants are nearby. More shops and eateries in Triolet 2 km away. Bus stop just outside on the road.

Price could be lower.
