Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys

L’accueil du personnel, leur gentillesse, la beauté des lieux, la super localisation, la nourriture qui était incroyable… Un énorme merci à toute l’équipe du Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys, qui a été aux petits soins avec nous. Une pensée toute particulière pour notre guide Rian, qui nous a guidé à travers la jungle pendant trois jours. Il avait des yeux exceptionnels, qui repéraient tous les animaux, il était calme, bon vivant, très à l’écoute et attentionné. Son ouverture nous a beaucoup touché et nous avons appris énormément à ses côtés, autant sur la faune et la flore de la jungle que sur Bukit Lawang et ses habitants. Encore un énorme merci à lui. On recommande vivement !!

Rien, c’était parfait !! Attention, pour la budget room, il ne faut pas s’attendre à une belle salle de bain. C’est très rudimentaire. Ça ne nous a pas dérangé parce qu’on avait vu des photos et qu’on avait fait ce choix. Mais à savoir si on recherche du confort. :)

L’établissement est situé à 15min à pied du cœur du village de Bukit Lawang, balade agréable le long d’un canal. Il est entouré d’un très beau jardin avec un étang particulièrement agréable et tout proche d’une rivière ou l’on peut se rafraîchir. L’autre point fort est la gentillesse de la propriétaire et du staff, allant de la cuisinière aux guides en passant par le manager. Nous nous sommes sentis très à l’aise, y compris les enfants qui ont trouvé un super terrain de jeu avec le jardin. Mention spéciale pour Sarol notre guide qui a pris grand soin de nos 3 enfants pendant le trek, en particulier le dernier de 4 ans, et pour Tondi notre chauffeur qui nous a amené jusqu’à Berastagi en musique dans la joie et la bonne humeur.

Les prix du restaurant sont nettement plus élevés qu’ailleurs dans le village.

Missed the air-conditioning

A lovely place to stay, just outside Bukit Lawang. The surrounding area was gorgeous, as well as the garden. Everywhere was spotless. Perfect place to relax in the jungle. We did a 2N/3D jungle trek with Cheeku Monkey and it was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had on all our travels! Our guides Jeri and Sarol were fantastic. They made our trek so enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend this trek enough!

The location was splendid. The landscaping, proximity to the lake and river are amazing. Staff was very helpful and friendly

Food was way overpriced. I asked for cappuccino and they gave me coffee made from instant sachet .ha..ha

We hadden een heel fijn verblijf met super vriendelijk personeel! Elly is een hele goede kok. Het ligt niet direct in het “centrum” van Bukit Lawang, vonden wij juist wel lekker rustig. Kamer is basic maar verder goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding

- Alleen koud water (voor ons geen probleem) - Matras was helaas heel erg doorgezakt

We had a fantastic time at Cheeky Monkeys. The staff were incredibly kind, and it was wonderful to hang out with them in the common area. They were also very helpful with everything we needed. Our jungle trekking experience with them was absolutely awesome! Huge thanks to all the guides at Cheeky Monkeys. We highly recommend staying here; the rooms are comfortable, the common areas are inviting, and the garden is simply astonishing.

El staff es increíble, te hacen sentir como en tu hogar y te ayuda con todo lo necesario. El trek en la selva estuvo perfecto en especial el guía Coco fue muy profesional y amable. El lugar es cómodo , tranquilo, rodeado de naturaleza y la comida es deliciosa.

I have never felt so welcome in my life in a hotel. Adi, Coco, Sarah, Santa, Ellie, and everyone else. You are all amazing people. The amount of work you put in the Cheeky Monkeys and all this while wearing the biggest smile and showing the kindest heart is not to explain in words, only in experience. Cheeky Monkeys gives real meaning to 'Arrive as a stranger, leave as a friend'.
