Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys

We had an amazing stay at cheeky monkeys and did the 2 day trek. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, accommodation was great value for money we had no complaints with the room apart from the shower head not allowing water through properly so was slightly difficult to wash after a long day trekking. But other than that was a very comfortable stay. Nice garden area. Food was very fresh and tasty. And the trek we did with Rean and Santa was an amazing experience couldn't have asked for better guides.

Das Deluxe Zimmer lohnt sich in unseren Augen nicht wirklich. Es ist sehr dunkel und grenzt direkt an den Aufenthaltsraum. Wenn das Personal dort arbeitet und redet, ist es so hellhörig, als würden sie im selben Raum stehen 😀. Wir haben dann in die normalen Zimmer gewechselt. Leider war hier an der Badezimmertür einfach kein Schloss mehr dran. So hat sich die Tür immer wieder von selbst komplett geöffnet und wir mussten einen Stein nehmen, um etwas Privatsphäre im Bad zu haben. Der Boden hätte ein bisschen sauberer sein können und es wäre schön gewesen, wenn neues Klopapier, Reinigung oder Handtuchwechsel proaktiv vom Personal angesprochen worden wäre (wir waren die einzigen Gäste) Wenn wir allerdings danach gefragt haben, war es nie ein Problem. Das Essen im Restaurant ist circa 3 mal so teuer wie im Dorf und hat uns leider nicht immer so geschmeckt - oftmals hat Salz gefehlt 😊 (aber das ist wahrscheinlich Geschmacksache)

The location was excellent. Just on the edge of village and peaceful. Staff treats everyone as if part of family. Always smiling and ready to help/serve in any request. I highly recommend a stay here. Would like to say a big Thank You to everyone at Cheeky Monkey

Cheeky Monkeys ligt buiten Bukit Lawang en heeft een zeer mooie tuin waar de kamers op uitkijken. De keukenprinses Elly maakt heerlijke maaltijden en is super vriendelijk en gastvrij. De gidsen zijn erg behulpzaam, toegankelijk, geïnteresseerd in ons en onze taal en weten veel. De jungletrek van 1 dag met afsluitende tubing rit terug naar Bukit is een aanrader. Geen garantie dat je dieren ziet, maar de gidsen sparen kosten nog moeite om van alles op te sporen. Ook het uitstapje naar de batcave met aansluitende BBQ aan de rivier is super. De maaltijd werd door de gidsen met enorm veel toewijding en zorg bereid en was heerlijk.

De deuren en ramen van de kamers kieren aan alle kanten en er is alleen koud water. Ook geen waterkokertje of zo. Maar goed, de kosten voor verblijf zijn laag. Ondanks dat je buiten Bukit bent zit Cheeky wel aan een straatje met kiezels waar redelijk wat verkeer langs komt. In de avond is het wel rustig genoeg om een goede nachtrust te pakken.

Nous sommes partis en trek de 2 jours organisé par l’hôtel avec deux formidables guides, Rihan et Andre. Ils connaissent vraiment bien la jungle et ont été à notre écoute. Merci à eux. Nous avons eu la chance d’être qu’à deux avec eux. L’hôtel gère également le transfert depuis l’aéroport pour un prix très raisonnable!

L’hôtel en lui-même présente pas mal de défaut et notamment le prix de la restauration. Le nasi goreng (riz frit)est 5 fois plus cher que partout ailleurs !!! Il est facile de trouver des bons plats à 5min de marche.

Excellent ! Un personnel au petit soin. Très bonne cuisine proposée. Proche d’une petite rivière pour se baigner avec les locaux. Un trek incroyable : deux guides en or Ryan et Santa. Une expérience magique. Et de belles parties de uno..

My stay at Cheeky Monkeys was brilliant. Sarah, Ade and the team were fantastic and helped me out when I needed a last minute trek into the jungle. My guide Rial was fantastic too. A really peaceful escape.

Really comfortable guest house with lovely garden. Close the the river for a dip. Nice breakfast and super hospitable staff who were very friendly and helpful. I did their 3 day trek into the jungle and had an amazing time. A big thank you to Rian and Sarol who were absolutely fantastic guides and went out of their way to make sure I had an unforgettable experience. One of the best things I've done in Asia.

That I couldn't stay longer. No hot water.
